Rivalries are the lifeblood of sport, and the NFL is about to give fans a new way to wear their passion on their sleeves—literally. The league has teamed up with Nike to launch the brand-new NFL Rivalries uniforms, a collection designed to celebrate the history, culture, and competitive fire of football’s fiercest matchups.
The 2025 NFL Rivalries uniforms will debut this season with eight teams across the AFC East and NFC West, each unveiling a one-of-a-kind look for a home clash against a hated division rival.
These aren’t your run-of-the-mill alternates. Nike has dipped deep into the lore of each city and club, producing uniforms that promise to be part war paint, part civic flag.
“Nike has a rich history with football, and we’re excited to partner with the NFL on this new Rivalries program to help grow the sport and expand it for the next generation,” said Airhart Ryan, Director, NFL Apparel Product Design at Nike.
“Each uniform was designed in collaboration with the club it represents to authentically reflect what makes their team, fans and communities wholly unique.”
The Schedule of Rivalries
Here’s when and where fans can expect to see the Rivalries kits storm onto the field:
- Arizona Cardinals: September 25 vs. Seattle Seahawks
- Miami Dolphins: September 29 vs. New York Jets
- Buffalo Bills: October 5 vs. New England Patriots
- New England Patriots: November 13 vs. New York Jets
- Los Angeles Rams: November 16 vs. Seattle Seahawks
- Seattle Seahawks: December 18 vs. Los Angeles Rams
- New York Jets: December 7 vs. Miami Dolphins
- San Francisco 49ers: January 4, 2026 vs. Seattle Seahawks
After their on-field debut, the uniforms won’t be one-hit wonders. They’ll remain part of each team’s wardrobe rotation for the next three years, sitting alongside traditional alternates. The league has also confirmed that new waves of Rivalries uniforms will roll out during the 2026, 2027, and 2028 seasons.
Rivalries: More Than Just Fashion
This isn’t just about flashy jerseys—it’s about identity. The NFL sees Rivalries as a way to inject more electricity into the league’s most heated games while giving fans new symbols to rally around.
“The unveiling of the first eight Rivalries club uniforms and fan gear marks a significant moment for the NFL, Nike and Fanatics, as creativity and innovation merge together to deliver a new take on what it means to be a rival,” said Taryn Hutt, vice president of club marketing at the NFL.
“Rivalries will bring fresh energy to the field with each new uniform, while providing a platform to amplify the community and hometown pride that is rooted in each NFL fan.”
It’s a bold play. For decades, the NFL has treated uniforms as sacred garments—only tinkering around the edges with alternates, Colour Rush nights, or the occasional throwback.
Now, Rivalries gives fans a direct way to show their competitive stripes, whether you’re in Buffalo braving the winter or in Miami soaking up the sun.
Where Fans Can Get Them
The NFL Rivalries uniforms and fan gear won’t just stay on the field. Jerseys, sideline apparel, hoodies, jackets, and headwear will hit shelves on September 10 at nike.com, NFLshop.com, fanatics.com, team stores, and select retailers. Fans overseas won’t be left out, either—gear will also be available across Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Australia.
For fans who thrive on the adrenaline of game day grudges, these uniforms are more than just fabric and stitching. They’re a statement. A reminder that in football, nothing binds communities quite like a good old-fashioned rivalry.
Rivalries Kit Designs
While Nike is keeping some design secrets locked away until the first whistle blows, here’s a look at the inspiration each NFL Rivalries uniform is likely to draw from:
Arizona Cardinals: Expect desert tones and bold, avian patterns that nod to the team’s Southwest heritage while sharpening the talons for a showdown with Seattle.
Miami Dolphins: Aqua and orange taken to extremes, with retro nods to Miami’s 1970s swagger and a splash of Art Deco that screams South Beach.
Buffalo Bills: A design likely rooted in grit and winter steel—blue dominance with icy trims, paying tribute to the toughness of upstate New York.
New England Patriots: Red, white, and Revolutionary blue—likely channelling Minuteman imagery with modern metallic edges. Perfect for jousting with the Jets.
New York Jets: Sleek, urban green infused with aviation motifs, perhaps leaning into fighter-jet sharpness rather than the classic kelly green nostalgia.
Los Angeles Rams: Expect something Hollywood—bold golds, modern flair, and maybe even nods to the glamour of the City of Angels.
Seattle Seahawks: Likely infused with Pacific Northwest culture—deep navy seas, neon highlights, and tribal-inspired graphics to reflect local heritage.
San Francisco 49ers: No doubt a tribute to gold rush grit, with a richer metallic palette and historical flourishes, fitting for a New Year’s clash with Seattle.
