A Peloton indoor cycling challenge has raised £22,500 for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, a charity committed to helping improve the lives of those affected by Motor Neuron Disease.

The Foundation was established by Scottish rugby legend Doddie Weir OBE, who died in November aged 52, six years after being diagnosed with MND.

Led by developer Mount Anvil, the event at Queen’s Cross in east London brought together some of the biggest names in the residential property industry.

Leading the pack was England Women’s defender Millie Bright, part of the history-making Lionesses squad that triumphed at the 2022 European championships.

With 20 Peloton bikes constantly in motion across different locations in London, including the offices of JLL, Knight Frank, and Savills, participants were asked to join an on-demand 30-minute Peloton class and cycle as far as possible. In total, 176 people took part.

Knight Frank Partner, James Clarke, who was diagnosed with MND in 2021, was among them. Through his fundraising efforts for My Name’5 Doddie, he has gained the support of celebrities including David Beckham and Fearne Cotton.

Participants collectively cycled 2,670 kilometres in six hours – equivalent to a loop of London every hour.

As well as raising much-needed funds, the event celebrated the launch of a brand partnership between Mount Anvil and Peloton, and the introduction of state-of-the-art, interactive wellness facilities powered by Peloton at all new developments within the Mount Anvil portfolio.

The first private residential developer to partner with Peloton in the UK, Mount Anvil is passionate about promoting health and wellbeing, striving to create places where people can thrive.

Queen’s Cross is the latest collaboration between Mount Anvil and ExCeL London, bringing new studio, one, two, and three-bedroom homes to the emerging waterfront community growing around Custom House station in the Royal Docks. Putting wellbeing at the forefront, the development will feature a Peloton-powered fitness suite as well as a rooftop running track.

Mount Anvil has a 30-year track record of delivering outstanding homes for Londoners and a one-of-its-kind £50m investment partnership with the GLA.

In 2022, Mount Anvil celebrated three successful launches at Chelsea Botanica, One Clapham Junction and The Bellamy, with a further 4,210 new homes in the pipeline.

Darragh Hurley, Managing Director at Mount Anvil, said: “What better way to start the year than with an epic fitness challenge, bringing together our friends across the industry with our partner Peloton to raise much-needed funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.”
