Organisers of the 2026 Cancer Research UK London Winter Run have confirmed that more than 24,000 places are already gone, leaving just 1,500 places (5%) before the final public release.
Those last spots will go on sale on Wednesday, 7 January 2026, and runners can now pre-register for the chance to secure one. Translation: blink and you’ll be refreshing a sold-out page, bargaining with the internet like it’s 2006.
A UK 10K heavyweight—on track for its biggest year yet
Already established as the UK’s largest 10K, the 2026 event is shaping up to welcome 26,000 runners, which would make this year’s edition the biggest London Winter Run to date. It all unfolds on Sunday, 15 February 2026, when thousands will take on the legendary closed-road route through the heart of London.
The course is a proper postcard job—except you’ll be sweating into it—passing landmarks including Trafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral, and the Houses of Parliament, while raising vital funds for Cancer Research UK.
Snow, spectacle, and the sort of finish-line characters you don’t forget
This is not a quiet little jog where everyone whispers apologies as they overtake. The Cancer Research UK London Winter Run leans into winter theatre with gusto: expect the full experience, from the Snow Blast-Off and dancing penguins to the iconic polar bears waiting at the finish line.
And because nothing says “serious running event” quite like a sporting legend turning up to send you on your way, Olympic icon Eddie “the Eagle” Edwards will be on site to set runners off and join the festivities.
The Penguin Party is back, with curling and live music
If you think the day ends when you cross the line, you’ve misunderstood the entire point of civilised sport. Post-race celebrations roll on with the famous Penguin Party, where the event will continue to embrace the winter games with a live Curling experience.
There’s live entertainment too, including a performance from Oasiz, the UK’s leading Oasis tribute band—because after 10K in February, you’ve earned the right to sing along as if your lungs aren’t currently filing a formal complaint.
