Matt Holland, head of product development at Innerva – the world’s leading provider of power-assisted exercise equipment – has been recognised for driving innovation in the active ageing market.
The engineering specialist has won the Future Leaders Award at the Innovate UK KTP Awards. The annual awards celebrate the people and partnerships behind the UK’s most successful Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP), a scheme which has been helping businesses innovate for growth for almost 50 years.
As part of the two-and-a-half-year KTP with Innerva, Holland helped to develop and bring to market the UK’s first power-assisted exercise equipment that addresses the issues caused by prolonged wheelchair use in older adults and those with long-term health conditions.
Holland was selected for the award from more than 800 individuals who are applying their expertise to help businesses increase productivity and improve business performance.
“I’m thrilled to have been selected to receive this award among the hundreds of other inspiring KTPS associates who are transforming businesses across the UK.
It’s a huge honour for me personally, but also shows the great progress we are making at Innerva to develop products that have a real impact on people’s lives and our ageing society,” said Holland.
