The E-Trends Fly Foldable and Portable City Bike Reviewed

e trends bike

As a keen cyclist and bike enthusiast who has a passion for all types of different bikes,  I was especially keen to test ride this new electric city bike from E-Trends.

With the impressive power of an electric bike and the convenience of a folding bike the E-Trends Fly e-bike is designed for families who want to maximise storage space and have to commute to work. In the city or country, the Fly is designed to make travelling simple and hassle free, the foldable and portable Fly makes taking your bike on public transport easy.

With a range of up to 19 miles, the E-Trends Fly should be sufficient for your commute to work, shops or even for heading out for a ride at the local park with friends and family at the weekend.

On first impressions this bike looks strong and durable with some nice quirky features and folds up very easily to a decent compact size.

Charging the Fly is quick, in just 4 hours it’s ready to go and you can remove the battery for easy charging.

The on and off key switch is a nice feature on this e-bike which turns the power and lights on and gives a powerful beep necessary to keep any stray pedestrian out of your way if needed..

Once you reach your destination it takes seconds to fold up your bike, using the simple unlocking mechanisms your Fly including it’s neat folding pedals will become a neat, discreet bike. Whenever you are ready, within moments of unfolding the Fly, it’s a fully functioning e-bike once more.

Weight wise this is not the lightest bike and will be heavy to carry up and down stairs at the train station but it is important to remember, as a budget electric city bike with built in battery and hub it will always be heavier.

When you need an extra pedal power boost, the speed sensor will kick in but it does require you to cycle consistently to have any gains from the motor.

This bike does have a throttle, however if you are like myself 6ft and well built then this bike will struggle to give you that extra help which you may be after up hills and when setting off. If you are jumping off the train and riding along to your work on flat it will give you some assistance however if your commute takes you up any hills you may need something with a bit more power.

Price wise I feel this is a very good price for a budget e city bike but lacks the power needed to be a contender in the e city bike category.

Those of you looking for an introduction to the world of eco-friendly commuting can do so with this fantastic entry level folding e-bike.

It is a bike I can envisage still looking like new after 10 years of use as it is clearly made well with high quality paint which would survive all weather.

The E-Trends Fly bike is available from £699*
