Wendy’s is throwing a free ‘Redhead Wedding’ for one lucky UK couple

Wendy's Burger Wedding

Remember when Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz caused a minor social media meltdown by serving Wendy’s burgers to their A-list pals at that £3m Palm Beach wedding? While everyone else was nibbling on canapés you can’t pronounce, the newlyweds rolled out a Wendy’s food truck stacked with cheeseburgers, fries and chicken nuggets.

Brooklyn later told British Vogue it was his “perfect final touch.” Nicola added: “We didn’t eat at all until we got to the Wendy’s truck, and then I had three burgers.”

Now, for once, you don’t need a billionaire dad, a Palm Beach postcode or a guest list full of people with their own perfume lines to pull off the same stunt.

From Palm Beach A-listers to UK redhead romantics

This February, Wendy’s UK is giving one couple the chance to win a fully catered Wendy’s wedding feast – the kind of big-day burger moment that would make even the Beckhams nod in approval.

There is, however, one gloriously daft catch: one half of the couple has to be a redhead. Natural ginger, freshly dyed copper, or even a scarlet wig – as long as the red hair is in place at the time of entry, you’re in the running. (Must be applicable at time of entry, as the small print likes to say.)

With wedding catering regularly swallowing a huge chunk of the budget – averaging around £65 per guest – this is not just a cute gimmick. The winning couple will have their food covered for up to 150 guests, with a dedicated Wendy’s catering team serving a three-course menu on their chosen date. That’s a lot of burgers, nuggets and fries that don’t have to go on the spreadsheet.

Even better, everyone who throws their (red) hat into the ring gets something: all entrants receive Wendy’s vouchers to enjoy the brand’s menu throughout the year.

A love letter to redheads – and to Wendy

The campaign, cheekily titled the Wendy’s ‘Redhead Wedding’, is a first-of-its-kind move from a brand that has spent over five decades turning fast food into full-blown fan culture.

Wendy’s is aiming this one straight at the UK’s redhead community – roughly 8% of the population, according to World Population Review – while tipping its hat to the face on every Wendy’s sign: Melinda Lou “Wendy” Thomas, the red-haired daughter of founder Dave Thomas.

“Weddings are among life’s biggest milestones and at Wendy’s, we’re all about bringing more joy to the moments that matter most,” said Michael Clarke, Wendy’s UK Managing Director. “That’s why we’re excited to celebrate the UK’s brilliant redhead community with something a little unexpected. Whether it’s savouring a Wendy’s Double or sharing hot and crispy chicken nuggets, we want to give one couple a wedding day that’s full of flavour, fun and unmistakable Wendy’s joy.”

So yes, this is effectively a giant international burger chain offering to pick up your wedding food bill because one of you looks a bit like the logo. Frankly, it’s about time gingerness paid a dividend beyond “burns easily in May.”

What the winning couple actually gets

The prize isn’t just a few trays of nuggets dumped by the DJ booth. The chosen pair will get:

  • A fully catered Wendy’s ‘Redhead Wedding’ on their chosen date
  • A three-course Wendy’s menu for up to 150 guests
  • A dedicated Wendy’s catering team on site to serve and manage service

In other words, you bring the rings and the relatives; Wendy’s brings the burgers, the fries and the kind of late-night snack line that stops Uncle Dave raiding the cake table at 8 pm.

And if your love story isn’t quite spicy enough to win? You still walk away with Wendy’s vouchers just for entering – not a bad consolation prize for 60 seconds of oversharing on social media.

Behind the scenes, Wendy’s will sift through Britain’s most heartfelt (and probably occasionally chaotic) redhead love stories to pick the couple with the most compelling entry. They’re not just looking for good lighting and clever editing – this is about personality, charm, and a story that makes the judging team feel something… ideally hunger.

For those who like to read the small print before they start writing their vows on a serviette, full terms and conditions are available at:
