Made In Chelsea’s Alex Mytton_4

MADE in Chelsea’s Alex Mytton is on a mission with bike subscription service Swapfiets to get more Londoners on two-wheels and has shared his favourite cycle route and top social spots in an attempt to get more people to discover the capital by bike.

Alex, 31, has revealed where he likes to spend his spare time including his favourite place to take a date, top socialising spots, best areas to get some exercise as well as his London ‘hidden gem’ where goes for some “me time”. Importantly all of these spots are easily accessible by bike, as seen in his recent video.

ALEX MYTTON’S FAVOURITE LONDON HOT SPOTS

Favourite café: Nardulli’s, Clapham Old Town

The Nardulli ice cream parlour, supported by skilfil master Italian ice cream makers, allows you to enjoy a genuine Italian ice cream in the beauty of Clapham Common.

“I’m a big fan of Clapham Old Town and it’s home to my favourite gelato and coffee spot. I like supporting small businesses and Nardulli’s is an independent ice cream parlour on the edge of Clapham Common. You have to try the mango sorbet! The espresso is banging too.”

Favourite walk: Battersea Park, Battersea

Battersea Park is a 200-acre green space at Battersea in the London Borough of Wandsworth. It is situated on the south bank of the River Thames opposite Chelsea and was opened in 1858.

“I go to Battersea Park for a walk or whenever I fancy a run when I’m not cycling. It’s huge and has got many different parts to it. I feel like I see a new place every time I go. It’s even got a zoo!”

Favourite workout spot: KXU Gym, Sloane Square

Pay-as-you-use gym and social meeting spot found on Pavilion Road which offers classes & personal trainer sessions, spa treatments, a cryotherapy chamber & snack bar.

“I go to KXU to get beasted by my PT (personal trainer) and keep my booty in shape. Simple as that!”

Favourite bar: Pavilion Club, Knightsbridge

The impressive Pavilion Club in Knightsbridge has six floors, two bars, a terrace and overlooks Hyde Park. There’s also a restaurant headed up by Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge.

“I go to Pavilion Club to meet up with friends for a drink or sometimes just to catch up over a coffee. It’s a really nice spot, especially in the evening for cocktails on the terrace.”

Favourite date spot: Maggie Jones’s, Kensington

Cosy, rustic, informal and incurably romantic, the restaurant is tucked away in a little cul-de-sac between Kensington High Street and Kensington Church Street.

“Maggie Jones’s is by far my favourite restaurant in London and my go-to place for a hot date. It’s nice and simple inside, with a kind of old barn feel, but importantly the food is unreal. It’s good value too.”

Alex Mytton’s Hidden gem: Kyoto Garden, Holland Park, Chelsea

The colourful and calming Kyoto Garden opened in 1991 and offers a unique, Japanese-style landscape. It was a gift from the city of Kyoto to commemorate the long friendship between Japan and Great Britain.

“Kyoto Garden is the most beautiful place in London. Maybe even the country. It’s stunning. I go here to just spend some time with myself, reflect, and sometimes meditate. For anyone who hasn’t been, take a trip there and take in the waterfalls. Thank me later!”

With record petrol prices and carbon emission levels, more and more Brits are turning to cycling and electric bikes as a way of reducing their carbon footprints when travelling and reality TV star Mytton is one of those doing just that.

On discovering the capital by e-bike, Alex Mytton said: “In my view, London is the best city in the world. There’s so much to see and do and getting around on two wheels really does open up the city. I’ve discovered so many nice places on my e-bike that I wouldn’t have known about before. I’d strongly recommend people get on a bike and take more of our capital in. Hopefully my top tips will help?”

Alex rides a Swapfiets Power 7 e-bike and with 7 gears, 25km/h top speed, 100km range and with a battery life of 7.5 hours, it’s a great option for Londoners wanting to join the e-bike trend.
