Before heading off to Tokyo, Olympic Gold Medalist and GB & England Hockey player Maddie Hinch MBE, will kick off the ‘Workshops With…’ series on Wednesday 5 May, a new, free online event series with WW (Weight Watchers reimagined).

Open to both members and non-members, sessions will feature inspirational experts to help people achieve their goals in a way that works for them this spring.

Maddie is the first special guest in the ‘Workshops With…’ series, where she will talk with Dr. Allison Grupski Phd, Senior Director of Behavior Change Strategies & Coaching at WW and share her insight into forming healthy habits during her career as a professional athlete, how that changed over lockdown and how she is now preparing herself for the Olympics in just a few months.

The pair will discuss the importance of willpower and mindset as well as the role of a supportive coach and community, with helpful tips and advice for participants.

On being involved in the ‘Workshops With…’ event, Maddie comments “As a professional athlete, habit formation has played a huge part in my life and has helped me to achieve my goals.

I’ve had to learn to harness willpower and overcome barriers and I’m delighted to be able to share some of my experience as part of this important event series with WW. ”

Discussing the discipline and the mindset required going into the penalty shoot-out at the Olympic Games on her episode of the WW podcast ‘Wellness That Works’ she said, “We believed so much in our routines and our processes that it was like there was no sense of fear.   Of course I was nervous, but I knew if I stuck to what I’ve done so many times that makes me feel at my best and perform at my best.”

‘Workshops With…’ is part of the #WWORKSFORYOU campaign which brings together partners, experts and inspirational people this spring, to help people achieve their goals in a way that works for them.

WW Workshops are a key part of many of WW members’ health and wellness journeys and WW is opening out their coach expertise and bringing the community aspect to all for this special series.

Dr. Allison Grupski PhD comments “As a nation our collective wellbeing has never been more important.

We want to bring people together through our workshops programme to help give them the tools, inspiration and motivation to achieve their wellness goals.

The role of habit development is hugely important in that because, as humans, we generally know what to do but we often struggle to make it happen.

I’m hoping people can benefit from this session and learn tips on how to form new, healthy habits from inspiring individuals like Maddie Hinch and prioritise their wellbeing into 2021.”
