How Celebrities Are Working Out at Home

Exercise can do a lot to boost your mental health and keep stir-craziness at bay, even more so when you’re stuck inside for long periods of time.

The coronavirus pandemic has seen many of us searching for alternative ways to stay fit indoors, which has become infinitely easier thanks to a flood of workout videos and Instagram live classes.

And we’re not the only ones keen to still exercise even though gyms are shut. Celebrities have been using this time to work on their fitness too, posting about it on Instagram in the process.

If you’re in need of some inspiration, take a look at how these famous faces have been working out at home…

At home fitness: I’ve got you by the ball ????????????‍♀️#multitasking #selfisolation

A post shared by Kate Bosworth (@katebosworth) on

Some celebs have turned to slightly odd looking indoor kit contraptions. Actor Kate Bosworth has been using a p.ball (£50, €56) from fitness brand p.volve – an inflated ball that you place between your thighs and squeeze to activate and tone your glutes, thighs and core.

Even better, Bosworth’s able to multitask and tap away on her phone while toning up.

Jogging on a running machine can be a pretty dull way to keep fit, but actor Tracee Ellis Ross knows how to spice it up a bit. She’s been dancing on her machine, which no doubt makes it a better full body workout – and much more fun.

Britney Spears has been using her allotted time outdoors to do a bit of yoga on the beach. Sure, she’s luckier than most to have a pristine beach near her house, but it’s still worth copying Spears and heading out into the garden for sun salutation. Sunshine, fresh air and moving your body are a winning combination for boosting your mood.

Chris Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth showed us how to improvise at home if you’re short on kit, using a washing basket and bottles of detergent in place of weights. If you want to really exercise like Hemsworth, he’s made the first six weeks of his fitness app Centr free as a coronavirus pick-me-up.

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding is not slacking on her fitness regime, and has posted an Instagram video of one of her morning workouts, which is a pretty intense-looking combination of cardio and weights.

Nicole Scherzinger

If you’re stuck inside with someone else, why not take a leaf out of Nicole Scherzinger’s book and do a partner workout? She enlisted boyfriend Thom Evans for a killer ab routine that involves bicycles and crunches galore.

Like so many of us, Yara Shahidi has turned to online classes to guide her workouts. Joined by her mother Keri, they tried a workout from KatieCAKES, an Instagram-favourite trainer who has more than 12k followers watching her virtual classes, which tend to have a booty focus.

Having excitable children around the house has the potential to interrupt your workout, but Pink is instead using hers to her advantage. Who needs weights when you have a small human to really add some resistance to your push-ups?
