Dubai Parks and Resorts returns on 7 October 2026, with new competitive attractions joining MOTIONGATE Dubai, Real Madrid World and LEGOLAND Dubai Resort.

Golfers understand the delicate economics of a family holiday. Every suspiciously long absence involving clubs tends to create a debt elsewhere in the itinerary.

The Dubai Parks and Resorts reopening on 7 October 2026 should at least provide a fairly substantial means of repayment.

The destination returns for its new entertainment season with MOTIONGATE Dubai, Real Madrid World and LEGOLAND Dubai Resort back in the mix, while The World of Riverland has added bowling and Lamborghini Automobili Racing Simulators to an already busy collection of games, attractions and places to eat.

That reopening date also arrives just ahead of the October mid-term break, which rather neatly positions the resort for families looking for something more substantial than another afternoon beside a swimming pool.

And substantial is certainly the word. This is not an attraction you accidentally finish before lunch.

A family day with rather a lot of moving parts

The useful thing about Dubai Parks and Resorts is not simply the number of rides. It is the variety.

One member of the family can be chasing rollercoasters, another can disappear into football history, younger children have the LEGO universe to occupy them, and anybody with a competitive streak can now spend part of the day bowling, racing, karting, throwing axes or attempting to beat relatives at mini golf.

Peace and harmony, naturally, cannot be guaranteed.

Fernando Eiroa, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding Entertainment, describes the reopening as “a significant moment for us and our guests”, with further experiences promised during the season.

The immediate additions are concentrated at The World of Riverland, but the larger attraction remains the ability to move between several very different forms of entertainment within one destination.

MOTIONGATE puts the rollercoasters back in business

MOTIONGATE Dubai supplies the Hollywood end of proceedings, with 29 rides and attractions drawing on DreamWorks Animation, Columbia Pictures and Lionsgate.

Its bigger rides include Madagascar Mad Pursuit, the Dragon Gliders experience featuring Hiccup and Toothless, and The Hunger Games – Capitol Bullet Train. Elsewhere, Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and The Smurfs provide somewhat gentler company.

It is the park most obviously built around the familiar theme-park formula of characters, spectacle and rides that cause grown adults to reconsider the wisdom of the breakfast buffet.

For families containing both small children and unapologetic thrill-seekers, that range is probably the important bit. Not everybody needs to agree on what constitutes entertainment.

Real Madrid World goes well beyond watching football

Real Madrid World takes a different approach, turning the club’s history and identity into more than 40 attractions and experiences.

The Hala Madrid Coaster provides the obvious high-speed option, while Stars Flyer rises 460 feet above the park. Those who prefer their pulse rate under slightly firmer control can explore the Bernabéu Experience, visit La Fábrica Training Pitch or head for Meet the Stars.

The attraction works on two levels. There is plenty for committed Real Madrid supporters, but it is not entirely dependent on knowing your club history. Rollercoasters tend to be admirably unconcerned with football allegiance.

That makes Real Madrid World an unusually broad proposition: part football experience, part theme park and part shrine to the club’s sporting identity.

Riverland has decided everything should become competitive

The more interesting change this season comes at The World of Riverland.

Its existing collection includes go-karting, archery, axe throwing, shooting challenges, puzzle experiences at Perplex City and The Hidden Chamber, mini golf, Neon Galaxy and arcade games.

Now add bowling and Lamborghini Automobili Racing Simulators.

The concept is plainly less about passive entertainment and more about giving groups something to do to one another. Highest score. Fastest lap. Lowest mini-golf total. A previously pleasant family relationship reduced to fractions of a second.

Riverland describes its approach as competitive socialising, and the phrase fits. The attraction is spread across French Village, Boardwalk, Sports Boulevard and The Peninsula, mixing games and activities with restaurants, cafés and outdoor spaces.

It also has the lowest stated entry price among the attractions in the current line-up, starting at AED 25.

LEGOLAND remains the younger-family stronghold

Families travelling with younger children have a more dedicated option at LEGOLAND Dubai Resort.

The resort combines LEGOLAND Dubai Theme Park, LEGOLAND Water Park and LEGOLAND Hotel. The Theme Park has more than 40 rides and attractions, while the Water Park adds 20 slides and water attractions.

There is also MINILAND, interactive building and play, while guests wanting to make a longer stay of it have LEGOLAND Hotel alongside the returning T-REX Glamping experience.

Elsewhere within Dubai Parks and Resorts, Lapita, Dubai Parks and Resorts, Autograph Collection provides another accommodation option with its Polynesian-inspired resort theme.

The practical numbers

Dubai Parks and Resorts welcomes guests back from 7 October 2026.

Tickets for MOTIONGATE Dubai and Real Madrid World start from AED 295, while The World of Riverland starts from AED 25.

For the travelling golfer, the attraction is fairly straightforward. Nobody needs to pretend rollercoasters, LEGO or Lamborghini simulators have suddenly become part of the ancient game.

They may, however, make negotiating the next round considerably easier.
