As England’s Lionesses gear up to make history, Deliveroo is eyeing a different kind of victory—saving the nation’s fingernails from utter annihilation. In a move equal parts cheeky and charming, the food delivery platform has teamed up with Boots to offer Stop & Grow Stop Biting Nail Solution for just £0.01 during finals weekend, giving anxious supporters a fighting chance against their own nerves.
The “VAR-nish for Victory” campaign kicks off at 12 pm on Friday, 25 July, and runs until midnight on Sunday, 27 July—or until stock runs out (which, let’s be honest, won’t take long if this goes to penalties).
Fans can add the £6.30 RRP product to their Deliveroo baskets from select Boots stores for the princely sum of a single penny, provided they spend a minimum of £15.
“Let’s be honest, watching England in a final is not for the faint-hearted,” said Suzy McClintock, VP of New Verticals at Deliveroo. “We’ve all been there, hiding behind cushions, pacing the room, or biting our nails down because we just can’t handle the tension.
As a nation, we love football, but it puts us through the emotional wringer. So, ahead of the women’s final, we’ve teamed with Boots to deliver some relief, raise a smile, and save a few nails while we watch England go for glory.”
While neither Deliveroo nor Boots can promise a win at Wembley, they can offer a small sense of control when VAR chaos strikes or your favourite striker lines up a 95th-minute free kick.
Here’s how it works:
- Open the Deliveroo app or website between Friday and Sunday.
- Choose a participating Boots store.
- Add Stop & Grow Stop Biting Nail Solution to your basket – it’ll appear as £0.01.
- Make sure your total order hits £15 or more.
- Check out. Standard Deliveroo delivery fees, service charges and geographical restrictions apply.
This tongue-in-cheek promotion follows Deliveroo’s “Score Back Scheme”, which offered fans £30 in Deliveroo credit if they missed a goal because their food arrived at the exact wrong moment.
The campaign was born from findings that 92% of Brits miss goals due to real-life distractions—be it the loo, the bar, or answering the door.
And it’s not just about one-offs and gimmicks. Earlier this summer, Boots and Deliveroo extended their on-demand delivery service, with select stores now delivering until midnight, giving late-night shoppers access to almost 10,000 health and beauty essentials, all from the comfort of their sofa. Deliveries can arrive in as little as 20 minutes, which is just enough time to calm your nerves before kick-off.
So, whether you’re hiding behind the sofa or clinging to hope in extra time, Deliveroo and Boots have your back—and your nails.
Just don’t wait until the whistle blows. Stocks are limited, tension is high, and in this match, the only thing that shouldn’t be biting is you.
