One of the world’s top CrossFit athletes Zack George has today announced he will be forming a team to compete in the CrossFit Affiliate Cup for his final year as a competitive athlete.

Zack and Team Training BFG are ready to threaten the division, which has garnered increased attention with the return of super teams in the past seasons.

Since qualifying for the CrossFit Games in 2020, a hip injury forcing him to withdraw in 2021, and the same recurring hip injury impacting his performance at the 2022 semi-finals, he has been determined to secure his ticket to Madison once more.

Zack’s mantra is “Start Where Others Stop”, and he’s using this opportunity to pick up the challenge and see his years of hard work and graft come to fruition on the sport’s biggest stage.

A vacuum now exists at the top of the team’s division; with Rich Froning Jr. and his dominant Mayhem Freedom team out of the picture, the category is more exciting than ever.

Joining Zack are some of the UKs best athletes, including the winner of the RX category at the 2022 Lowlands Throwdown and 2nd place at the 2022 European Championships, Nicole Crouch; experienced team athlete Janie Garratt; and regional athlete & co-founder of Team Training Programming Will Kane; each athlete is committing themselves 100% to goal reaching the games.

Zack George comments, “I’m ready to give my final season my absolute all. The past few years haven’t been an easy ride, 2020 was a real blow when the numbers were drastically cut at the Games due to the pandemic, and the subsequent hip issues have been frustrating.

However, my experiences have only made me stronger as a person and an athlete, and I’m excited to work with the team for an exciting few months ahead.

With Zack about to become a father and his life set to change dramatically, 2023 was the right time in his career for his last dance in the sport to which he has dedicated his life since 2013.

Zack will be using the lessons of the past ten years as fuel to the fire and giving this season his all alongside his new teammates.
