Stilton Butchers, an award-winning online family butchers who provide grade A top quality beef, lamb, pork and poultry meats has announced they will be offering FREE meat packages to the vulnerable this Christmas for their ‘Meat Giving’ campaign.
Stilton is asking people who would benefit from some support this Christmas to reach out and email catering@stiltonbutchers.com.
The email should include their reasons why, along with their name and address. Stilton will then select 50 families across the UK and deliver a whole fresh meat package a few days before Christmas so they are all set for the festive season.
Stilton Butchers recently saw a huge fall in sales due to restaurants closing during the Covic-19 lockdowns, and had over £1million worth of fresh meat with no storage which put huge amounts of pressure on their business. From this they focussed on pushing online sales and a nationwide delivery service by offering their product to the consumer direct.
This transformed the £7million turnover catering company into a £15 million retail butchers basically overnight – and at the height of the COVID crisis.
The director James Morgan of the family-run business in Peterborough is the man behind the ‘Meat Giving’ idea and wanted to make sure people had quality food on their plate on Christmas day.
He says: ‘For me this online business change was a very difficult decision as my father Peter Morgan died unexpectedly, so I had to make this work for the business but most importantly to make my dad proud who founded the business in 1978. There was
no failing in my mind. I want to provide meat to people who need it this Christmas, life is short and I’m a strong believer in giving, especially during these hard times.’
Stilton Butchers now offers local and nationwide delivery across the UK. Orders are securely sealed and delivered the following day within a chosen hour time slot. The expert butchers cut and prepare the meat fresh to order. Orders are delivered locally by Stilton’s own refrigerated vans or countrywide by courier in a techni-ice box that keeps the meat below 5˚c.
