Speedo has stepped up its sustainable swimwear offering with the launch of two new fabrics featuring up to 82% recycled materials made from plastic waste.

Speedo’s new Eco Endurance + and Eco Endurabrite fabrics have both been carefully crafted from recycled yarn and feature in the new men’s, women’s, and kids’ SS22 swimwear collections.

The new innovative fabrics were created in response to the growing global issues surrounding plastic waste and the devastating impact it is having on our beloved oceans.

It is estimated that every minute, one million plastic bottles are sold and 91% are not recycled, which can end up having harmful effects on the ocean, its habitat, and the creatures that live within it.

To help tackle the issue, Speedo is taking unwanted plastic waste and putting it to good use through the creation of its most eco-conscious materials to date.

Speedo’s brand new Eco Endurabrite fabric can be found in Speedo’s fresh seasonal styles for spring/summer 2022, featuring a staggering 82% recycled waste.

Complete with a higher chlorine resistance, collections featuring Eco Endurabrite allow swimwear to fit and feel newer for longer.

Leading with an on-trend animal print, the Eco Endurabrite range offers both fashion and function and includes long-sleeved paddle suits and bold two pieces.

Eco Endurance + is an evolution of the best-selling fabric from Speedo, which now features 53% recycled polyester.

New for SS22, Eco Endurance + now features Speedo’s bestselling fitness collections including the popular Medallist suit.

Committed to their goal to be net-zero by 2030, changes to the manufacturing and design of the popular swimsuit have saved over 27,000m of fabric from landfills.
