Eddie Redmayne Shines at OMEGA Masters Gala in the Swiss Alps

OMEGA Masters Gala Eddie Redmayne

The OMEGA Masters Gala lit up the Swiss mountains on Saturday night, as Academy Award-winning actor Eddie Redmayne swapped the Hollywood red carpet for a cable car ride to L’Arnouva.

Perched high above Crans-Montana, the alpine setting offered more than just crisp mountain air and panoramic views—it was the stage for one of OMEGA’s most stylish celebrations to date.

This year’s gala marked OMEGA’s 24th year as title sponsor of the OMEGA Masters, a golf tournament so steeped in tradition it’s practically a timepiece itself. Guests, ferried up the slopes like Bond villains on holiday, arrived to find an evening blending Swiss sporting heritage with OMEGA’s signature elegance.

Redmayne and Railmasters

Stepping onto the stage, Eddie Redmayne proved that an Englishman with an Oscar can hold his own in the rarified air of the Alps. An OMEGA ambassador since 2015, Redmayne has played roles ranging from Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything to a singing revolutionary in Les Misérables. But on this night, his co-star was a Seamaster Railmaster in stainless steel, worn with the quiet confidence of a man who knows the difference between style and showmanship.

“During these past 10 years with OMEGA, I’ve witnessed so many incredible parts of the brand, whether it’s the Olympic Games or the precision on display at their factory,” Redmayne told guests.

“I’ve learned there are always more surprises to uncover. It’s impressive to see the impact they have within the wider world of sport, and how their values of precision and performance are represented here at this amazing golfing location.”

A Celebration in the Clouds

OMEGA President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann played host, reminding everyone that the brand’s heartbeat has always been tied to sport and spectacle.

“Being here in the mountains, celebrating one of our favourite Swiss sporting events, there really is no better way to experience our OMEGA home,” he said. “I’m delighted to welcome everyone here this evening, and especially Eddie, who is getting to experience another unique passion of our brand.”

The guest list was a who’s who of OMEGA’s golfing ambassadors: Kim Métraux, Wyndham Clark, Rasmus and Nicolai Højgaard, Danny Willett, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Erik van Rooyen, Frank Kennedy and Guido Migliozzi—all present to toast one of Europe’s most iconic golf tournaments.

The Tournament That Never Moves

While the OMEGA Masters Gala captured the glamour, the tournament itself has always been about history. First played in 1923 as the Swiss Open, the event has remained at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club since 1939. That makes it the longest-running tournament in Europe to be staged on the same course—a high-altitude proving ground where tradition meets thin air. OMEGA took over naming rights in 2001, cementing its place at the heart of European golf.

Now, 101 years since its debut, the OMEGA Masters continues to deliver a spectacle both on and off the course. And if Saturday night proved anything, it’s that the OMEGA Masters Gala is as much about timeless elegance as it is about birdies and bogeys.
