If you ever needed proof that hospitality is about more than plates and pints, the Big Table Group has just served it up in style. One of the UK’s biggest restaurant operators, the group has announced it will carry its partnership with children’s charity Dreams Come True into a second year—after raising a mouth-watering £160,000 in just ten months.
The fundraising tally was capped off with a glittering gala ball at London’s Nobu Hotel, hosted by comedian Russell Kane, where laughter, generosity, and a few questionable dance moves combined for a record-breaking night.
The donation marks the single largest corporate contribution ever received by the charity, which delivers life-changing experiences for children with serious illnesses, disabilities, or life-limiting conditions living in some of the toughest parts of the UK.
More grit than glitz
While the Nobu bash stole headlines, the real legwork—quite literally—came from Big Table Group staff and supporters. Forget the treadmill; these folks threw themselves into challenges ranging from three half marathons to climbs up Ben Nevis and a moonlit slog up Snowdon. Others took a leap of faith with skydives, bungee jumps, and even abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower.
Then there were the more grounded—but no less heroic—efforts: Brighton litter picks, a Tough Mudder, the London to Brighton bike ride, and even a football tournament at Craven Cottage. In every case, it wasn’t just about raising money, but about pulling communities together in the process.
Looking ahead to 2026
Having smashed year one, Big Table Group is pledging to make 2026 just as impactful. With more than 200 restaurants and 5,000 team members across brands like Bella Italia, Las Iguanas, Banana Tree, Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito, the group plans to keep the fundraising momentum rolling with nationwide events, in-restaurant activities, and bold campaigns.
Alan Morgan, CEO of Big Table Group, couldn’t hide his pride: “£160,000 is a phenomenal achievement, and we’re proud to say it will help Dreams Come True change the lives of hundreds of children, while also supporting the wider work they do.
This partnership has inspired our teams and guests alike, and we’re excited to continue supporting this fantastic charity in 2026 helping them make a lasting difference for the children and families who need it most.”
Lisa King OBE, Chief Executive of Dreams Come True, echoed the sentiment with heartfelt gratitude: “Thrilled, humbled, grateful, and amazed are just a handful of words which describe how Dreams Come True feels about its inspiring partnership with The Big Table Group.
Over the last ten months, the phenomenal support we have received proves what happens when passionate, purpose-driven teams unite: lives change. Every pound raised delivers life-changing joy to thousands of children with serious illnesses or disabilities living in poverty.
As the numbers of children falling into poverty grow year to year, this extraordinary commitment means more than ever. We cannot thank The Big Table Group enough, and we are truly excited to continue building this brilliant partnership into a second year. Thank you to everyone involved.”
Dreams made real
For Dreams Come True, every penny raised translates directly into tailored experiences for children aged 5–18. That could mean specialist equipment to ease daily struggles or unforgettable adventures that give families lasting memories.
The rallying cry for 2026 is clear: Big Table Group wants customers, communities, and partners to keep joining them as #dreammakers, proving that when restaurants, staff, and diners pull together, the result is far more satisfying than any dessert trolley.
