The January deal you’ll actually use: Banana Tree’s £6.95 Laksa and Ramen

Banana Tree Ramen Bowl

If January had a soundtrack, it would be your boiler sighing and your bank account saying “absolutely not.” So Banana Tree has decided to do something unusually decent: offer proper, warming bowls of Laksa and Ramen for £6.95—the kind of price that makes you check you’ve read it correctly, then read it again with hope in your eyes.

The restaurant’s New Year comfort mission is called better than half price Bowls of Greatness, and it runs from now until Thursday, 29th January. The maths is not subtle: Laksa usually lands at £15.40 (chicken or tofu) and Ramen at £15.50, so you’re saving £8.45–£8.55 every time you go in for a slurp.

The deal at a glance

  • Price: £6.95 per bowl
  • When: All day, Sunday to Thursday, until Thursday, 29th January
  • Where: Dine-in only (GB only)
  • How to claim: Say “Bowls of Greatness” to your server when ordering
  • What you can order:
    • Chicken or Tofu Laksa
    • Chicken, Veggie or Vegan Gyoza Ramen

It is, in other words, a winter survival plan you can eat with chopsticks.

Two bowls, two different kinds of comfort

Singapore Laksa: the coconut-curry hug

Banana Tree’s Singapore Laksa is pitched as “a fragrant celebration of Malaysian street food,” and it’s built for cold-weather rescue: creamy coconut milk, lemongrass, chilli and coriander, plus rice noodles and fresh vegetables, finished with your choice of chicken or tofu. It’s the sort of bowl that makes the outside world briefly irrelevant.

Ramen: the slow-broth workhorse

The Ramen goes the other way—deep, savoury, slow-simmered broth “infused with aromatic herbs and spices,” with noodles you can properly slurp, protein and vegetables to keep things balanced, and that restorative feeling you only get from food that’s been patiently looked after before it reaches you.

If you’ve been living on “quick” meals and regret, this is the antidote.

Upgrades if you’re feeling fancy (but still sensible)

Even the “go on then” add-ons stay in value territory:

  • Prawn Laksa: £1 supplement
  • Chicken Jawa Ramen: £1.50 supplement

At full menu pricing, those numbers would look like rounding errors. In January, they feel like permission.

Who this is for (and why it’ll fill tables)

This isn’t a gimmick designed to get you through the door once. It’s priced for repeats: midweek catch-ups, cosy solo lunches, or the kind of early-evening dinner that stops you ordering something bleak at 9:30 pm. And because it’s all day (Sunday–Thursday), it’s not just a late-night lure—it’s an “anytime” fix.

Expect the phrase Banana Tree regulars love—warm, bold South East Asian flavours—to do the heavy lifting here. The price just removes the January hesitation.

Tom Patrick, Marketing Director, said: “January is all about comfort, warmth and real value, and that’s exactly what our Bowls of Greatness deliver. Our guests consistently tell us how much they love our rich, nourishing broths and balanced protein options, which is why we wanted to make them more accessible at this time of year.

With iconic Laksa and Ramen bowls at a special price, all guests need to do is walk into any Banana Tree and ask for Bowls of Greatness to enjoy an unbeatable winter warmer.”
