Bikini Line to Full Body: Why Ulike’s Air 10 IPL Targets Coarse Hair Better

Ulike IPL Hair Removal

I’ll be absolutely honest with you here: I was so sceptical when I heard about this Ulike IPL removal device. I’ve seen enough “miracle” gadgets in the at-home hair removal world to assume most of them are just expensive ways to create optimism and mild disappointment.

But the Ulike Air 10 IPL Hair Removal Device for Face, Body, and Bikini Line has surprised me in a way I didn’t expect—mainly because it’s actually made me stick to the routine. And with IPL, that’s half the battle.

Ulike’s headline promises are bold: “Up to 24 months of smooth skin¹”, “96% hair reduction in just 2 weeks²”, and “10-minute³ full-body sessions.” I’m not here to wave a flag for every claim on the box, but I can tell you what I’ve seen so far.

My results so far (3 weeks in)

Three weeks in, I’m noticing a difference in the coarseness of hair—or, in some areas, the lack of it now. The regrowth isn’t coming through with the same stubborn, sandpapery attitude, and the “why is this back already?” feeling has calmed down.

I’m not saying you’ll wake up on day 15 as a completely hair-free dolphin. I am saying that, used properly, this thing starts shifting the dial quickly enough that you keep going.

And that’s key, because you need to be consistent or results won’t be as great. IPL doesn’t reward half-effort.

What the Air 10 is like to use (the part nobody tells you)

Ulike IPL LED Laser Hair Removal

Here’s where the Air 10 wins: it’s pain-free, quick and easy. That’s not marketing fluff from me—this is the difference between a device you use twice and a device you actually build into life.

Ulike says the Air 10 maintains a cool contact temperature of 18°C for comfort and burn prevention, and it uses Ice Cooling plus an integrated SkinSensor to protect skin, even in sensitive areas. In practice, that “cool contact” feel makes sessions less of a mental hurdle, especially around the bikini line and underarms.

The wider treatment window also helps. You’re not inching along like you’re mowing a lawn with nail scissors. It’s more “get it done, move on.”

How IPL hair removal works

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair removal works by sending light pulses into the skin. The light is absorbed by melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle, converts to heat, and—over consistent sessions—targets regrowth.

The light penetrates the skin’s surface and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicles. It is then converted to heat energy, disabling the hair follicles and resulting in thinner hair regrowth. With consistent treatments, the Ulike IPL ultimately prevents hair growth altogether.

The bits Ulike hangs its hat on

Ulike positions the Air 10 as “laser-like safety and effectiveness,” citing a larger flash window and powerful SHR Mode⁵ for faster treatments, plus a specialised mode for coarse hair (including bikini line) that “delivers 26J of energy per second.”

This device is designed to tackle stubborn areas while staying gentle enough that you’ll keep using it.

Who IPL suits (and who should think twice)

Because IPL hair removal targets melanin, results depend on hair colour and skin tone. Ulike is clear that IPL may be less effective on lighter hair colours (blonde, grey, red) and can pose safety concerns for darker skin tones due to higher melanin absorption—so check the skin tone chart before buying.

And it’s also clear on who should not use IPL hair removal devices, including those with certain skin disorders, photosensitivity, pregnancy/lactation, sunburnt skin, broken skin, tattoo areas, and more (full list in the product guidance).

My bottom line (Not Literally)

I recommend this product 100%—with one condition: you have to commit to the schedule. If you’re consistent, it’s a fantastic investment for at-home hair removal. If you’re not, you’ll end up blaming the device when the real issue is it’s been sitting in a drawer for ten days.

If you want the short version: it’s pain-free, quick and easy, and three weeks in I’m seeing enough change in hair coarseness (and in some places, the lack of it) that I’m actually motivated to keep going.

The Ulike Air 10 is currently priced at £269.99 on the official website here.
