Mowgli Street Food, the restaurant empire built by barrister-turned-restaurateur Nisha Katona MBE, has rolled out a brand-new autumn menu – and it’s every bit as comforting and soulful as you’d hope.
This isn’t just another seasonal tweak. It’s a proper celebration of Indian home cooking designed for the darker nights ahead, with dishes that range from hearty classics to bold new creations.
From Biryani to Bunny Chow
Leading the charge is the Mowgli Chicken Biryani – fragrant rice and tender chicken topped with crunchy miniature poppadoms. Then there’s the velvety Black Dahl, slow-cooked black lentils with tomatoes, ginger-garlic, and spices, finished with a swirl of cream that feels like a hug in a bowl.
The Diwali Cauliflower adds fireworks to the table: turmeric-roasted florets scattered with pomegranate seeds, cooling yoghurt, tamarind chutney, coriander and sev. Meanwhile, the new Lamb Bunny Chow is pure theatre – a slow-cooked lamb curry served inside a hollowed-out loaf of bread. Messy, hearty, and destined for Instagram.
And if you’re a bread-and-dip purist, the new Garlic and Coriander Paratha is calling your name.
The Mowgli Experience

Since opening its first Liverpool site in 2014, Mowgli Street Food has grown to 27 restaurants across the UK. Known for staples like Gunpowder Chicken, Mother Butter Chicken, and Tamarind Treacle Fries, the brand has built a reputation for food that packs a punch yet feels like it belongs in a family kitchen.
But Mowgli isn’t just about the plates. Each restaurant is strung with fairy lights, wooden tables, swing seats and the hum of chatter – a space designed to feel alive with warmth and generosity.
Founder Nisha Katona said: “The food I create for Mowgli is always about authenticity, the dishes Indians eat in their homes and on their streets, full of taste, life and soul. This autumn, I wanted to bring a sense of comfort and celebration to the table, with dishes like Lamb Bunny Chow and Diwali Cauliflower that warm you from the inside out.
Whether you’re sharing plates with friends under our fairy lights or finding the solace of a bowl of Black Dahl on a chilly evening, these are dishes that bring joy.”
A Brand With Purpose
Mowgli Street Food isn’t all about the food, either. Through The Mowgli Trust, the brand has donated over £2.6 million to charities at home and abroad, and it’s been named one of The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work three years running.
Now, for the first time, Mowgli is also available for delivery exclusively with Uber Eats – so those warming bowls and street-food platters can reach your door without you leaving the sofa.
Where to Try It
The new autumn menu is available now in all 27 Mowgli Street Food restaurants, from Liverpool to London, Cardiff to Edinburgh.
