In Review: Introducing HOKA’s New Mach 5 Running Shoe!

hoka mach 5

The all-new lovechild of HOKA’s Mach 4 and Mach Supersonic, the HOKA Mach 5 is a lively pavement pounder and built for performance and ready to race.

Sporting a stripped-back creel mesh upper and lay-flat tongue, the new Mach 5 delivers a snappier ride with PROFLY’s stacked midsole setup, offers a lightweight, responsive foam directly underfoot and rubberised EVA below.

And that is the first thing I noticed when I slipped this running shoe on, although I say slipped, it was a little bit of a struggle due to my wide feet. But once on the feel of the ground as I started off on my run was one of airy springiness underfoot.

The tongue feels extremely light to the point of feeling like it won’t withstand too much pulling on before ripping but trust me when I say this isn’t the case, like I say with the wide foot issue trying to pull the tongue up took a lot of stretching and it withstood that test no problem.

How it’s different: It has a little more “oomph” behind it – both in performance and ride characteristics.

Why you’ll love it: This up-tempo ride was designed to keep your feet feeling fresh, no matter the tempo.

This well-designed and stylish sneaker will be available in the EU July 15 on hoka.com and in select HOKA stores and retailers worldwide.
