Côte Brasserie has kicked off the countdown to midnight in unmistakable French fashion, unveiling its most indulgent New Year’s Eve line-up both in-restaurant and at home. And if you think you’ve seen a festive spread before, Côte Brasserie is about to remind you what proper celebration looks like.
This year’s in-brasserie four-course New Year’s Eve celebration menu (from £53.95pp) is a straight-up treat: unapologetically French, brilliantly generous, and built for people who believe ringing in the new year should taste like something. Guests are greeted with a complimentary glass of Crémant or a Kisumé non-alcoholic sparkling rosé — a welcome that tells you exactly what kind of night you’re in for.
From the moment the Comté Madeleines and their hot-honey dip hit the table, it’s clear Côte isn’t playing coy. Add olives, garlic-herb peppers and starters that swing from Chicken Liver Parfait with macerated figs to a Camembert Brûlée decadent enough to make a Parisian blush, and you’ve got a menu that isn’t shy about putting its best foot forward. King Prawns in Café de Paris butter, Beetroot-Cured Smoked Salmon — the hits keep coming.
The mains lean into French comfort with all the subtlety of New Year’s fireworks. There’s Confit Duck à l’Orange so smooth it ought to come with a warning; Cornish Roasted Hake with velvet-rich lobster sauce; and a Steak Frites Deluxe cut from Côte’s own butchery (+£8) that happily reminds you why the classics became classics. Vegetarians and vegans aren’t afterthoughts either — the Chestnut & Sage Tartiflette with a baked half Camembert and the Roasted Miso Parsnip dish are centre-stage affairs in their own right.
Because restraint has no business at a New Year’s table, a trio of sides (£15) piles on Sprouts à la Française, hot-honey Pigs in Blankets, and crispy confit potatoes with gravy mayo. It’s festive excess, delivered with a straight face.
Desserts keep the pace with Pain Perdu, a Warm Chocolate Fondant, and the eye-catching La Bûche Rouge winter berry mousse log — the sort of thing that ends a meal with a bow, not a whisper. Every brasserie will be serving the celebration menu right up to midnight.
For Those Toasting From the Sofa, Côte’s At-Home Feasts Return
If staying in is more your speed, the sell-out Côte at Home boxes are back — and frankly, they’re a godsend for anyone hoping to avoid the kitchen on the year’s busiest night. The Feast for Six (£169.95) and Feast for Two (£84.95) arrive chilled and ready to finish at home, built around beetroot-cured salmon with horseradish cream, British & Irish Côte de Boeuf with gratin dauphinois and black garlic jus, and a dark chocolate financier with cherry compote. No fuss. No stress. Maximum bragging rights.
The Buffet Box (£76.95, serves 2–4) leans fully into celebration mode: French cheeses, truffle saucisson, cured ham, smoked salmon, pâté, confits and more — the sort of spread that turns any living room into a low-lit Parisian soirée. Pair it with Côte’s festive drinks, and suddenly you’re the host of the year. The first 150 orders even get a complimentary Big Potato Games party game to keep the chaos lively.
Côte at Home has become such a ritual that Dame Judi Dench herself is among the devotees who swear by its ease through the festive season.
And for the early-morning revellers? The Festive Breakfast Box (£67.95) takes care of croissants, jams, granola, sausages, eggs, and Crémant de Bourgogne. The Festive Drinks Package (£79.95) lines up everything from Buck’s Fizz to Port.
All menus come from the hand of Executive Chef Steve Allen, whose Michelin-starred background at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Pétrus and Claridge’s gives Côte’s offering a polish without the pretension.
