The ASICS Night Energy Collection is returning for a second season, this time with a fresh range of purple-toned apparel and two performance footwear models designed around the particular theatre of evening tennis in New York. Belinda Bencic, Lorenzo Musetti and Jasmine Paolini are among the ASICS players set to wear the collection during evening matches, while Taylor Fritz and Emma Navarro will use the footwear.
There are easier places to disappear quietly than beneath the lights at Flushing Meadows.
ASICS has leaned into that fact.
New York after dark gives ASICS its theme
The collection takes its visual cues from New York City after sunset, with Faded plum and Seastorm providing the dominant colour palette.
The apparel also uses delicately knitted cationic yarn intended to pick up movement beneath artificial light.
That gives the range a clearer identity than the familiar business of changing a few colours and declaring the season transformed. ASICS has tied the collection directly to the atmosphere of evening tennis: the lights, the movement and the sense that the match has somehow become a different creature once daylight disappears.
It is also a continuation rather than a one-off experiment. Night Energy debuted last year, and this second collection develops the same idea around clothing, accessories and footwear.
Fritz, Bencic and Musetti give the launch its player story

ASICS has a useful collection of names attached to the New York roll-out.
Lorenzo Musetti, Belinda Bencic and Jasmine Paolini are set to wear the Night Energy Collection during evening matches, while Fritz and Navarro will wear the footwear only.
Fritz is aligned with the GEL-RESOLUTION X Night Energy, the stability-focused shoe in the range.
He said: “Stepping onto the court after dark in New York is an electric, incredibly demanding experience. When you’re competing late into the night, blocking out distractions can sometimes be a challenge. It is so reassuring to step out there knowing my footwear is fully supporting me.
The extra stability and comfort from the GEL-RESOLUTION™ X NIGHT ENERGY keep me feeling grounded and balanced through every rally. Having tennis shoes this reliable gives me the confidence to embrace the energy of the night session and just focus on playing my best tennis.”
Bencic, meanwhile, is associated with the speed-focused SOLUTION SPEED FF 4 Night Energy.
She said: “Tennis has a beautiful way of resetting everything, and that feeling doesn’t stop just because the sun goes down. Stepping out for an evening session gives me such an uplift after a long day. When you’re playing after dark, having comfortable apparel and highly responsive footwear completely changes the experience. The SOLUTION SPEED™ FF 4 NIGHT ENERGY gives me the lightweight support I need to move freely and with confidence. It turns evening tennis into the perfect refresh for my body and mind, helping me to finish the day feeling ready for the next.”
Two tennis shoes split between speed and stability
ASICS has organised the footwear around its Playing Styles approach, separating the range into two fairly uncomplicated priorities.
The GEL-RESOLUTION X Night Energy, priced at €160, is the stability option. ASICS positions it for players looking for greater support during baseline rallies and changes of direction.
The SOLUTION SPEED FF 4 Night Energy, also €160, sits at the other end of the spectrum, with its emphasis on lighter movement, quick take-offs and all-court speed.
Having both at the same price makes the distinction rather cleaner. The decision is about movement rather than an artificial good-better-best hierarchy, which is refreshing in an industry rarely frightened of adding another tier.
Night Energy apparel puts movement before novelty
The women’s collection includes the Match Jacquard Crop Top at €65, Match Jacquard Skirt at €85 and Game Compression Bra at €55.
Accessories comprise a €25 Performance Visor, €12 wristband and €18 socks.
The men’s range includes the Match Jacquard SS Top at €75 and Match Laser Cut 7in Short at €70, with a €30 Performance Cap, €15 wristband and €18 socks.
ASICS says the garments combine ACTIMOTION technology, intended to improve flexibility in targeted areas, with ACTIBREEZE technology designed to support airflow and lightweight breathability.
The company also says the range has undergone athlete wear testing.
Those claims belong firmly in the manufacturer’s column unless independently tested, but they at least address problems tennis players actually recognise: movement, heat and the unpleasant discovery that an evening match can still leave you looking as though you have fallen into a swimming pool.
ASICS makes mood part of the pitch
There is a broader theme running through the collection that goes beyond shirts and shoes.
ASICS is positioning evening tennis as a mental as well as physical reset — part of the company’s long-running emphasis on movement and mood.
Martina Jurcova, Head of Global Tennis Apparel & Accessories at ASICS, said:
“Our second Night Energy Collection celebrates the unique atmosphere of the court after dark, blending advanced performance with design details that catch and reflect each movement. There is a distinct shift that happens when the stadium lights turn on; the distractions of the day fade, allowing players to unlock a different level of focus and presence.
With this year’s updates, we wanted to provide players with comfortable, reliable apparel that helps them move freely. This collection is built to turn evening tennis into a refreshing boost for body and mind, encouraging players to keep moving so they can end the day feeling lighter and uplifted.”
There is naturally a generous helping of brand philosophy in that argument, but the timing is smart.
New York night tennis already has an identity strong enough that manufacturers do not need to invent one for it. ASICS is simply borrowing some of the voltage.
The Night Energy Collection is available online at ASICS and selected ASICS stores worldwide.
And under the New York lights, it certainly will not be difficult to spot.
