If you thought Jacksonville’s biggest offseason signing was Travis Hunter’s two-way talent, think again. The real headline is that he and Trevor Lawrence are now officially the NFL’s answer to Footloose.
Yes, you read that right — the adidas You Got This campaign has turned football practice into a dance floor, and the result is equal parts gridiron and glitterball.
Hunter, adidas Football’s newest star, arrived in Jacksonville expecting playbooks, drills, and maybe a few friendly hazing rituals. Instead, he got Lawrence, a quarterback with golden hair, a decent set of dance moves, and a knack for turning warm-ups into a full-blown party.
“Football is about more than just the plays you run — it’s about the people you run with,” Lawrence said. “Travis brings a spark, and that passion makes everyone around him better.”
The short film, which dropped today, is a love letter to the 1984 cult classic Footloose (©️ Paramount Pictures). Shot-for-shot, Hunter and Lawrence lace up their cleats to Deniece Williams’ Let’s Hear It for the Boy, swap serious film study for playful antics, and transform football drills into dance-offs. It’s not so much practice as it is a pep rally choreographed by Kevin Bacon.
Chris Murphy, adidas’ SVP of Brand Marketing, insists this isn’t just about the jive. “Trevor and Travis bring not only exceptional football talent to adidas, but also an enthusiasm and positivity that represents this new generation of elite athletes,” he said. “‘You Got This’ is about more than performance — it’s about the power of encouragement, connection and belief.”
For Hunter, the message hits home. “For me, football has always been about joy — the joy of competing, the joy of learning and the joy of being a teammate,” he said. “The best part of this game is the relationships you build along the way.”

Directed by Payman Benz with creative direction from Mark Fitzloff and Rob Palmer, the adidas You Got This film captures the unlikely bromance of two stars who’ll soon be sharing not just the screen, but the huddle.
As the finale rolls, Hunter and Lawrence debut their freshly minted touchdown handshake before jogging onto the field — teammates at last, and already showmen.
The campaign debuts just as their season together kicks off in Jacksonville, and if the film is any indication, opponents will need more than just a defensive line to stop this pair. They’ll need rhythm.
The adidas You Got This film is live now on adidas social channels and will air across broadcast platforms throughout 2025. For the full experience — and possibly some dance inspiration — head to adidas.com/yougotthis.
