Ollie Ollerton, former special forces and face of SAS Who Dares Wins, now leading his BreakPoint ops team for the 10k trail run says: “We are so excited to bring this event to Pippingford in the New Year.

By combining the physical trial of a 10k run with the mental challenge of Dry January, this is an experience that delivers real, long-lasting change. It’s not just about fitness, it’s about fortitude.

The tools BreakPoint uses to help people break free from mental constraints align seamlessly with the goals of Alcohol Change UK. They help people see it for what it really is – a choice, not a necessity.”

Co-founder and brainchild of Dry January 10k, Dean Newman, found himself trapped in a web of alcohol and drug dependency.

Now living a life of sobriety and passionate about driving change and empowering others to live healthier lives, he says: “Alcohol is the backdrop to our lives, we celebrate with it, we mourn with it. But when do we ask ourselves, what is this doing to me?

We have created this event to help people take control and find freedom – whether it be the physical challenge of a 10k or the mental commitment to stay alcohol-free. Ultimately, it’s about taking back the power and breaking away from dependency.”

2019 was a pivotal year for Scott Thomas: “After years of throwing parties for a living, my relationship with alcohol became out of control. I was always ALL or NOTHING!

It affected my personal relationships, business and so much more. In 2019 I decided to go sober for a year and it completely changed my whole life.

“Through the power of sobriety, I managed to find a new found love for self-development and everything seemed to improve for me across the board.

I now want to use my platform and story to help raise awareness around the stigma around ‘going sober’. I feel like a lot of people feel trapped in a lifestyle and I want to show people that there is another way!”

Comfort ends where change begins. Mark your calendars, for 28 January 2024. Parking on-site at Pippingford Park or the nearest train station, East Grinstead. Find out more and snap up your spot today at www.dryjanuary10k.org
