From now until October, special classes will be added to the Gymbox roster to help those who have experienced cancer, are completing treatment or have seen a loved one go through the darkest of times.
The classes – supported by Nike and led by expert trainers – are devised to improve physical fitness through functional and HIIT training, whilst also tackling the equally tough stuff like mental health, bereavement and difficult conversations around cancer.
The Battle Cancer classes are made up of mental and physical training designed to help people speak up, fight back and build a unique community in the face of one of life’s greatest challenges.
They will run for 12 weeks, helping people train for the Battle Cancer event in London, however anyone at any fitness level is free to join and drop into the classes on an ad hoc basis.
“The programme is all about connecting a supportive community of like minded people through the sharing of stories and experiences whilst promoting health and wellbeing as a preventative to illness, and what better place to do that than at Gymbox,” says Scott Britton, Founder and Director of Battle Cancer.
Rory McEntee, Gymbox Director adds “We are delighted to partner up with Battle Cancer. Whether you’ve experienced cancer, are completing treatment or have seen a loved one go through the darkest of times – everyone’s welcome, and anyone can benefit.
With the goal to sweat together, learn together and heal together, the Battle Cancer x Gymbox is a class that can’t help but inspire.”
The classes will be held at all Gymbox locations; Bank, Ealing, Elephant + Castle, Farringdon, Holborn, Old Street, Westfield London, Westfield Stratford, Victoria, head to https://www.gymbox.com/classes/battle-cancer-x-gymbox to find out more.
