Powered by former Special Forces, Ollie Ollerton and his team at BreakPoint, runners swapped their bar tab for run bib to raise vital awareness and funds for partner charity, Alcohol Change UK.

Every year, millions across the world commit to 31 days alcohol-free as part of the Dry January movement and this event on Sunday 28 January, symbolised the end of the month, which for many marks just the start of their new relationship with alcohol.

It wasn’t just running action on the day, a lineup of inspirational talks took place post-race.

Life transformation coach, Paul Mort, comedian, Dan O’Reilly, AKA Dapper Laughs and TV personality, Scott Thomas provided all the tools and inspiration for people to continue their alcohol-free journey into February and beyond.

Runners and their supporters were also captivated by charity ambassador, Lauren White, now celebrating over 11 years sober.

Robin Plowman, Community and Challenge Events Manager at Alcohol Change UK, who took part in the run said:

The Dry January 10k was BRILLIANT! It was tough and muddy, but it was so much fun.

Being organised by ex-military and in the stunning location of Pippingford Park, it was always going to be a challenge, but achievable.

We cannot wait for 2025’s event and continue our journey to support more friends and families embracing an alcohol-free life.”

Ollie Ollerton adds: “We have been blown away by the success of our first ever Dry January 10k and the community we’ve built.

The event village was alive with camaraderie and positivity for the year ahead, this really is the start of something special.

We set out to build inspire and empower our community to make healthy and life-changing decisions and ultimately educate more people on the joys of living alcohol and addiction-free.

“The event wasn’t just about being drink-free or getting fit, simply for the month of January.

This is about longevity, teaching our mind and body that we can take control, overcome temptation and commit to healthy, long-term habits and mindsets.”

Dry January 10k will return to Pippingford Park in 2025 with further details soon to be released.
