Two-time NBA MVP and three-time NBA Champion Stephen Curry and renowned restauranteur, TV host and The New York Times best-selling author Ayesha Curry announced the launch of Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation at an Oakland, Calif. community event celebrating Bay Area communities.
Under Armour partnered with the organisation for the family-friendly inaugural event to provide UA Sackpacks and t-shirts to nearly 1,000 local youth from Oakland Parks, Recreation, and Youth Development’s Town Camps.
Stephen and Ayesha saved the best for last as they surprised every attending youth with the guarantee that they would receive a brand new pair of shoes from his signature UA Curry line for back to school.
Children are our future and we are deeply dedicated to empowering them and opening doors for their futures. This organization is all about instilling ongoing tangible change for underprivileged children growing up in the Bay Area and beyond. As parents, we see a multitude of unique opportunities our kids have access to, and our hope is that Eat. Learn. Play. and the critical fundamental development tools it provides will positively impact children in our community to live out their dreams.”
— Stephen and Ayesha Curry
The promise just required Stephen to take a splash, after Ayesha declared shoes for all if she could dunk Stephen. She then called in extra help from the couple’s daughters, Riley and Ryan, to make it happen!
Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation is designed around three core values that play an integral role in promoting a healthy, fun and thriving childhood.
These key facets of the organization are supported by dynamic and innovative partners for on-the-ground activations and ongoing relationships, ultimately encouraging universal access to quality education, nutritious eating and physical activities.
