Competing at the CrossFit Strength in Depth Semi-Final event in London over the weekend, British male athlete, Reggie Fasa was crowned the ‘Fittest Man in the UK, 2022’ as he secured the highest British male finish in this year’s CrossFit™ Games Season.
After three days of competition going head-to-head with the top 30 athletes from across Europe, Fasa finished in an impressive 10th place.
CrossFit is the global Sport of Fitness. The sports season started in February 2022 with The CrossFit Games Open, a worldwide virtual competition.
The top 10% of athletes in each continent advanced to the Quarterfinals stage and from there the top 60 individuals in each continent advanced to ten continent-based Semifinals.
Fasa took part in the CrossFit Strength in Depth Semi-Final at the London ExCel from 10th-12th June.
Finding CrossFit just five years ago and only starting training full-time in 2020 when nationwide lockdowns were imposed due to COVID-19, Fasa was placed on furlough from his job as a labourer in South Shields.
The already extremely talented ex-rugby player from Newcastle progressed in leaps and bounds. Moving to Wigan to train with his coach at JST Compete, finishing 11th worldwide in the 2020 CrossFit Open, the next year he went on to win the CrossFit Games European Semi-Finals in 2021 firmly stamping his arrival on the CrossFit scene and turning heads with his impressive scores.
“I am beyond buzzing to officially be the Fittest Man in the UK. This past year I’ve made some changes to how I attack certain workouts and it’s so rewarding to see all the hard work paying off. I know I’ve still got so much more to give and can’t wait get back to work to show that next season.”

The final stage of the competition is The 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games. The top 5 male athletes from each Semi-final advance to The CrossFit Games.
Fasa’s 10th place finish means he will not advance to the next stage of the competition, but he is already laser focused on qualifying for his sport in 2023 and defending his title as The UK’s Fittest Man.
