Operating at the extreme edge of performance, a race team requires every element and working part to function at its very best – and that includes its people.
With Red Bull Technology expanding its business into new areas with the addition of Red Bull Powertrains, plus a growing race calendar and huge changes in technical regulations, it’s more important than ever to ensure it protects its biggest asset – its people.
With this in mind, Oracle Red Bull Racing has invested significantly in its Technology Campus in Milton Keynes, introducing a new state-of-the-art high-performance fitness and wellbeing facility, fully equipped with Precor products, part of Peloton Commercial.
The 3,000sq ft on-site gym is available free of charge for all staff to use, alongside a supplementary daily food allowance, as the business aims to help refresh, recharge and refuel its people.
The cutting-edge facility features a full complement of Precor strength and cardio equipment including the sleek Resolute Selectorised Strength kit, Precor’s core cardio offering with P80 and P60 consoles and a fully bespoke Queenax™ functional fitness solution. It’s not just about gaining a physical edge on the competition.
The Peloton Commercial team will also work with Oracle Red Bull Racing to take an active role in promoting health and wellness within the Team going forwards.
Oracle Red Bull Racing CEO and Team Principal, Christian Horner, said: “Formula 1 is a pressure-cooker environment and with seasons now extending to 23 races globally, across nine months and more, it takes a toll on the staff, not just those at Grand Prix but also at the factory, which works 24/7 to deliver performance through the year.
It’s hugely important to us as a Team that we look after our people and care for their wellbeing The creation of our new gym at our Milton Keynes headquarters is part of that commitment.
We want all of our Team members to stay fit and healthy, in body and mind, and we know that will ultimately feedback to the Team in improved performance.”
Oracle Red Bull Racing Human Performance Coach, David Osgathorp, added: “Our goal with this project was to create a high-performance facility, worthy of a high-performance team.
While there are other companies that specialise in strength training kit or cardio machines, Peloton Commercial had the complete package that we were looking for.
Our goal is to deliver race-winning performance each weekend and, with the fine margins in F1, we’re always looking for an edge over our competitors. With Peloton, we can reach that target.”
Scott Trinder, Peloton Commercial UK Sales Leader – Clubs & other verticals, adds: “We are increasingly seeing companies putting employee wellbeing front and centre, and Oracle Red Bull Racing is ahead of the curve.
In partnering with Peloton, Oracle Red Bull Racing is future-proofing its facilities, providing a best-in-class offer that will ensure it can engage with and attract employees from all demographics by demonstrating that employee health and wellness is more crucial to them than ever.”
