This year, Fitness First is turning Blue Monday, Fiery Red with a special edition, ‘Burn Off Your Bills’ nationwide event. Do something positive for your body and mind at the only place where you will be happy to burn some serious energy!
Every year, Fitness First refuses to give in to the January blues and transforms Blue Monday into Red Monday, by offering everyone in the UK the chance to hit its gyms for free.
This year, 39 Fitness First clubs across the country will give people an extra boost by offering the chance to ‘Burn off Your Bills’.
Rising energy bills are one of the biggest concerns for the general population, with new research showing that more than 7 million people will be left struggling to pay energy bills without additional and ongoing government support.
What Is Blue Monday?
The third Monday of January, commonly known as Blue Monday, is considered one of the most depressing days of the year. Fitness First wants to help those across the country combat the mental and physical struggles faced during colder months through health and fitness.
Previous Fitness First research found that getting your blood pumping on Monday can help set a positive trend for the week ahead, with 42% saying Monday exercise made them far more likely to exercise for the rest of the week
That’s why, on ‘Red Monday’, anyone that visits a Fitness First club will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win a month’s worth of energy courtesy of Fitness First. Whether that’s heading to a group exercise class, hitting the pool, or working up a sweat on the gym floor, you’re in with a chance of winning.
The best bit – it’s free! Simply walk in or book an appointment in advance, with free guest passes available for non-members.
With 39 participating clubs across the country, Fitness First will randomly select winners after the event. The winners will get a £300 payment to cover the cost of their energy bill in January.
Fitness First is celebrating 30 years of fitness and expertise in 2023 and has been turning Blue Monday Red since 2014.
Visit the gym, book a class, or jump in the pool to work on your physical and mental health and you could see your energy bills for January taken care of too!
