Fiit, announces its integration with Concept2, the release of its first connected Row workouts offering a lower-price alternative for those looking for an affordable interactive Rowing experience.
As the demand for dual memberships and connected fitness grows, Fiit is continuing on the path to bring its members an affordable and complete hybrid fitness solution.
Fiit Row adds to the line-up of new modalities recently launched onto Fiit, which includes interactive Air Bike and Tread workouts – equipment that is now commonly seen in the home and gym environment and in line with consumers’ changing needs where remote and office work is the norm.
Dan Shellard, CEO of Fiit says, “Our aim is to continue breaking down the barriers to fitness by offering an affordable solution that allows members to maximise their workouts whether they’re at the gym or home.
The introduction of Row workouts is our next logical step in ensuring we can offer a complete hybrid workout proposition – one that responds to the changing nature of how people both work and work out today.
Whether members are working out at home or in the gym, we can now offer them fitness on their terms, at the touch of a button.”
Alex Dunne, Managing Director of Concept2 says, “Our primary goal is to promote and encourage the growth of rowing, ensuring it can be as accessible as possible to all.
As tech continues to shape the future of all sports, we’re hugely excited to be able to integrate our RowErgs with the Fiit platform. Now our community has the chance to further track progress, compete with the wider community, and compare efforts.”
About Fiit Row
Rowing is recognised to be one of the most efficient full-body workouts, working 86% of your body’s muscles in one single stroke.
Fiit Row will deliver Fiit’s newly prescribed ‘Train, Recover and Compete’ programming model, and use the same ON: OFF structure as its other equipment-based workouts.
Led by world-class trainers, each will guide members through a progression-based, low-impact full-body cardio and strength-based workout. Members will get a mix of 10, 25 and 40-min workouts in the name of Sprint, Metcon, and Endure, designed to target all three energy systems to build strength, power and stamina.
The workouts can be completed on any indoor rowing machine, in any setting, but for a fully interactive experience, members will need access to a Concept2 RowErg.
Trackable metrics include stroke per minute (SPM), kcal (output), distance travelled, and reps (where applicable when using the Fiit Tracker), allowing members to Connect and Compete on the live leaderboard.
Row Academy
Setting members up for success, a Row Academy will also be available. Suitable for complete novices to seasoned athletes, Row Academy has been devised by Fiit’s line-up of expert coaches, offering a collection of 10-min tutorials, spread over two weeks, designed to teach the fundamentals of efficient rowing techniques.
Gede Foster, Fiit Director of Fitness, says, “Ensuring our members have the opportunity to understand the basic principles of any sporting technique is vitally important to us.
Our Row Academy is a place where you can learn proper form, implement the skills and drills you pick up, and get fitter and faster on the rower so you can attack any rowing workout with confidence.”
The release of its new Row workouts onto the Fiit platform, alongside the roll-out of a new hybrid gym model with The Gym Group, further strengthens Fiit’s position within the industry.
Now, members are provided with more flexibility and choice with how and where they work out. By the end of 2022, members can continue to expect to see new workout concepts and modalities that can be used in the gym and at home to launch onto the platform.
From just £7.99 per month, members can access the new Fiit Row workouts and Row Academy under its new Only Plans subscription. Members with unlimited Monthly/ Yearly Memberships will be able to access the full interactive experience exclusively with the Fiit tracker.
