EGYM’s Strategic Move: Elevating Presence in the UK With Steve Barton as Country Director

Steve Barton Gymtech Country Director UK

EGYM, a global leader in fitness technology and corporate wellness, is strengthening its presence in the UK by appointing Steve Barton as Gymtech Country Director UK.

Steve is a seasoned industry leader with an extensive track record of building customer-focused businesses combining innovative equipment and digital solutions.

He spent 19 years with Technogym in the UK, including six years as Managing Director. Before his tenure with Technogym, he led Sales teams at Precor and Star Trac.

Steve, who will report directly to Marco Guiducci, EGYM’s Vice President Sales International, has joined EGYM effective March 18th.

Steve Barton commented, “I’m thrilled to work with the existing and new UK customers and the entire team at EGYM.

Fitness clubs have the opportunity with EGYM to be leading players in the transformation of the world’s largest market of all – the healthcare market – from repair to prevention.”

Marco Guiducci commented, “Securing Steve as our UK leader is a turning point for EGYM’s presence in the UK, one of Europe’s most important fitness markets.

I am certain that Steve will elevate our operations in the UK to a completely new level, supported by our amazing team.”

Rob Barker, ex-CEO of Precor and an EGYM advisor will also work with Steve to develop the UK market.

Rob commented, “Steve and I worked together at Precor for many years, and I am excited to be working with him again. EGYM has big plans for the UK, and Steve’s leadership is key.

Many operators have put COVID behind them and are growing their service offering and digital integrations; it’s a great time to be at EGYM”.

EGYM is well-positioned for the future following a successful €207 million investment round last year and the recent recruitment of the former CEOs of Life Fitness, Chris Clawson, and Precor, Rob Barker.

Approximately 16,000 clubs worldwide utilise EGYM products and services, including many of the largest enterprise fitness chains.
