David Lloyd Clubs has unveiled its exclusive new indoor cycling class, CYCLONE, promising riders a focused and powerful experience, with an emphasis on performance. The launch comes at a time when Brits have fallen back in love with two wheels; with cycling increasing by up to 200% during lockdown.
With the cooler weather and shorter days of autumn now here, CYCLONE takes cycling indoors, but there’s no easing up in the challenge or in the comradery of a group exercise class. Classes are run in a Covid-19 secure way, with a minimum 2m between each bike and equipment sanitised before and after use.
Using Stages Bikes – the world’s leading indoor bike – CYCLONE riders track their power, speed and distance. Cadence and endurance are built upon, both in and out of the saddle during every 45-minute class.
With every turn of the pedal, real-time performance is displayed on the studio screen so riders can push to their own limit, alongside those riding around them.
Riders book a specific bike via the David Lloyd Clubs app and will be given a CYCLONE account to store ride data and track progress.
“We’re thrilled to unveil CYCLONE and know it’s going to take our Clubs by storm,” commented Michelle Dand, Head of Fitness Product and Programming at David Lloyd Clubs.
“This is a product my team have passionately developed over the past 18 months and really is something special. Focused and powerful – there’s no cutting corners in this class. But that doesn’t mean it’s just for elite athletes. On the contrary, CYCLONE offers a bespoke workout for every individual rider.
Everyone is challenged to hit the same zones, but the effort needed to achieve this is different from person to person. Cycling soared in popularity during lockdown, as anyone who tried to purchase a bike will know!
Now as the weather turns more autumnal and the nights are drawing in, there’s no need to retire the padded shorts – we’re turning things up a gear inside.
She added: “All our instructors have been hand-picked and intensively trained to ensure the best possible experience to riders and to ensure the class becomes stronger, fitter and faster.
Every class is different – be it climbing the hills, riding the roads or time-trail across the flats. But the goal remains the same: improving performance.”
CYCLONE will be available exclusively at 48 David Lloyd Clubs this year. For further information visit www.davidlloyd.co.uk
