Bannatyne health clubs across the UK are taking part in a campaign aimed at getting people moving while supporting their local community.
Together with participants from more than 30 countries around the world, the Bannatyne Group is partnering with Technogym and joining its ‘Let’s Move for a Better World’ challenge, the biggest ever social campaign in the fitness industry which enables gym-goers to do good for themselves and others.
Members exercising on the health club’s state-of-the-art Technogym equipment have the chance to track their exercise, collect MOVEs – the Technogym’s unit of measurement for movement – and donate them for a good cause.
All the Bannatyne health clubs have nominated local state schools to receive gifts of Technogym equipment if their members achieve more than one million MOVEs between March 16th – April 4th, 2020.
Liam McLoughlin, fitness innovation manager at the Bannatyne Group, said: “By taking part in the “Let’s Move For a Better World” campaign, our members can donate the physical activity they have performed to a local school.
“This has the double benefit of encouraging our members to embrace a more active lifestyle, perhaps spend five minutes longer on the Technogym machines to increase their MOVEs and helping local school children to get fit thanks to the donated fitness equipment.
“Obesity and a sedentary lifestyle are not conducive to good health and if we can encourage people to move just a little bit more that can only be a good thing.
“I am certain that, as always, our members will embrace the challenge.”
