Apple Fitness+ is breaking free from the Apple Watch. Starting today (October 24, 2022), iPhone users can subscribe to the fitness platform—no Watch required.
And that’s not all. Taylor Swift fans, rejoice! The pop icon is making her Fitness+ debut with a dedicated Artist Spotlight series, featuring tracks from her new album Midnights.
Also coming to the platform:
🏃♂️ A new Yoga programme for runners with ultramarathon legend Scott Jurek
🚶 Fresh Time to Walk episodes with Hannah Waddingham, Meghan Trainor, and astronaut Eileen M. Collins
💪 Three new Collections, including a Totally ’80s Cycling series
And for the first time ever, iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV purchases now come with three free months of Fitness+.
No Apple Watch? No Problem.
Up until now, Apple Fitness+ was exclusive to Apple Watch users—but not anymore.
Now, iPhone users can access the entire Fitness+ library, featuring over 3,000 studio-style workouts and meditations, right from the Fitness app. You’ll still get on-screen trainer guidance and interval timing, plus estimated calories burned to track your Move ring progress.
Got an Apple Watch? You’ll still get real-time, personalised metrics on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV—plus the ability to listen to Time to Walk and Time to Run straight from your Watch with Bluetooth headphones.
Oh, and if you’re streaming workouts via AirPlay, all AirPlay-enabled Roku devices will start displaying real-time metrics next month.
Taylor Swift Joins Fitness+ 🎤
Love a themed workout? Apple’s Artist Spotlight series is dedicating three weeks of workouts to Taylor Swift, with new songs from Midnights dropping across Core, Cycling, Dance, HIIT, Pilates, Rowing, Strength, Treadmill, and Yoga.
To celebrate the album’s midnight theme, Apple is going all in:
✨ Workouts will feature special themed lighting.
📝 In a Treadmill session, trainer Scott Carvin’s coaching tips will spell out SWIFTIE.
🔢 In a HIIT workout, trainer Anja Garcia will structure 13-second intervals as a nod to Swift’s lucky number.
Yoga for Every Runner – with Scott Jurek 🏃♂️🧘
Running might seem simple, but to go faster, further, and injury-free, cross-training is key. That’s where ultramarathon champion Scott Jurek comes in.
His new Yoga programme, led by Fitness+ trainer Jessica Skye, is designed to help runners:
✅ Improve posture, balance, and mobility
✅ Enhance recovery and injury prevention
✅ Build strength and flexibility for a smoother stride
Each session is just 10 minutes—perfect as a warm-up, cooldown, or standalone flow.
“Yoga has been a crucial part of my training,” says Jurek. “These workouts are designed for everyone—whether you’re just getting into running or training for your next big race.”
