adidas has just lifted the curtain on their latest marvel in rugby footwear—the Kakari RS.

It joins the elite ranks of adidas’s Adizero RS15, rounding out a lineup that’s as versatile as the players lacing them up.

The genesis of the Kakari RS came from intense dialogues with both elite-level pros and dedicated amateurs.

adidas’s design squad has genuinely dialled into the evolving role of forwards. No longer are they just the brawlers of the scrum; today’s forwards are dynamic players who make their presence felt across the field.

This shift in playing style called for a boot that keeps up—enter the Kakari RS. It’s a marvel of design, focusing on critical stability and enduring durability without lugging any unnecessary weight.

Thanks to its sleek one-piece soleplate, the boot promises optimal flexibility and foot stability, crucial during high-pressure plays.

The iconic eight-stud configuration is maintained, ensuring unmatched traction, essential for the push and shove of scrum and maul.

Ben Herath, adidas VP of Design for Specialist Sports, shared insights on the latest addition, “As rugby evolves, so does our footwear.

We’ve listened and adapted to meet the forward’s new demands without sacrificing the stability needed during intense forward play.”

The Kakari RS is not just lighter; it’s smarter. Weighing in at a mere 368 grams (size UK 10.5), it’s the lightest Kakari yet.

The integration of Fasttech, a microfibre-based synthetic leather, replaces heavier materials without compromising performance, ensuring swift movements and robust support.

The upper of the boot features intricate embroidery that enhances midfoot support, paired with traditional lacing to secure the foot during dynamic movements.

As for visibility on the field, the boot will make its debut on the feet of rugby luminaries like Scott Barrett, Tadhg Furlong, Eben Etzebeth, and Kyle Sinckler.

It comes in two sleek colourways—a stark black and silver for New Zealand teams, and a bold blue with gold accents.

Priced at €220, the Kakari RS is positioned as a premium offering, with the Kakari Elite and standard Kakari models available at €130 and €90 respectively.

All versions come in unisex sizing, accommodating a range of athletes.

From July 15th, 2024, the Kakari RS will be available at adidas’s official site under their rugby shoes section, ensuring that every forward has the opportunity to experience this game-changing technology.
