Innerva has promoted Jon Hymus to the role of Managing Director. Hymus replaces Howard Blackburn who bought the business in 1997 and now becomes CEO.
Hymus joined the world’s leading provider of power-assisted exercise equipment as Commercial Director almost 18 months ago.
During this time, the company has rebranded and developed further partnerships and initiatives to meet the growing demand for innovative active ageing solutions across the fitness, health and social care sectors.
With almost 30 years of experience in the UK health, fitness and leisure sector, Hymus has held a variety of senior positions in the industry, including those at Serco, GLL and Leisure Connection. In his new role, Hymus will steer Innerva through its next phase of growth, both in the UK and globally.
Commenting on his new appointment, Hymus said: “I’m excited to build on the success of Innerva’s work to date as we expand our model to support our customers to deliver on active ageing, both here in the UK and overseas.
The world’s population is ageing fast – for the first time in history, people aged 60 years or over outnumber children under five years. By 2050, people aged 60 years or over will also outnumber 15-24-year-olds.
We believe everyone has the right to healthy ageing, which is why we will continue to partner with academics and invest in new technology and digital innovations that assist with active ageing.”
