To meet demand for outdoor group exercise classes David Lloyd Clubs has accelerated the rollout of its innovative Battlebox product by introducing Battlebox GT – a high intensity fitness training class, to 39 Clubs this autumn.
Operating outside in all weathers, the 45-minute sessions will work the full body over 3 x 10-minute circuits, incorporating a mix of cardio and weights.
Ensuring current regulations are adhered to, individual equipment such as kettle bells and barbells, is provided and participants work within their own dedicated zone. It’s fast-paced, challenging and lots of fun.
Michelle Dand, Head of Fitness Product and Programming David Lloyd Leisure commented: “We’re thrilled to be rolling out Battlebox GT to more Clubs bringing our members a fantastic outdoor group exercise product.
“For those who enjoy exercising outdoors, this is a brilliant step-up from a run or cycle. Think bootcamp style, with a David Lloyd Clubs twist! All our instructors are raring to go and have created sessions which are suitable for all – you work to your ability; we’ll be there to coach and challenge you with every movement.
She concluded: “I’m a big fan of outdoor training and there are many studies that show it can enhance your mood, as well as ensuring you’re getting a good dose of vitamin D.
With the autumn approaching rest assured this isn’t just a summer offering. At Battlebox, we say: ‘There’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes!’.”
Battlebox launched in 2019 and is currently being rolled out across the UK. It will be available in 39 Clubs by the end of the year.
