Just when you thought the eternal “burger or pizza?” debate was destined to remain unresolved, Pizza Hut crashes the party with the culinary equivalent of a mic drop: the Cheeseburger Pizza.
Yes, you read that right. It’s bold. It’s brash. It’s got burger sauce and cheese—on a pizza. And it’s arriving just in time to hijack your summer menu planning.
Whether you’re slouched on the sofa debating takeaway with your better half, or rounding up your mates for a weekend nosh at your local Pizza Hut, the Cheeseburger Pizza isn’t whispering for attention—it’s shouting from the oven: “Why not both?”
This latest flavour-fuelled offering from Pizza Hut isn’t just a food item. It’s a declaration of intent. “Freedom’s tasty,” claims the campaign.
And with a tangy burger-flavoured sauce slathered beneath melted cheese, it just might be. Customers can choose from three variations—beef, breaded chicken or veggie—each available on any base, but if you know what’s good for you, go stuffed crust. It’s practically a rite of passage.
To launch this Frankenstein of fast food, Pizza Hut teamed up with celebrity chef and unapologetic flavour enthusiast Big Zuu, who previewed the new pizza as part of the brand’s partnership with Sky’s new series Big Zuu & AJ Tracey’s Rich Flavours. Safe to say, he was hooked.
“I’m really excited to be collaborating with Pizza Hut for the launch of my new show, Rich Flavours,” said Big Zuu. “We travelled the world sampling the best food there is, and now we’re bringing that energy home.”
And bring it home he did—straight into a pizza box with more attitude than a backseat DJ. According to Zuu, the Cheeseburger Pizza is pure “don’t-tell-me-what-to-do-freedom,” and if there’s a better slogan for summer 2025, we haven’t heard it.
But this isn’t Pizza Hut’s first rodeo when it comes to flipping the script. As Jana Ulaite, Chief Marketing Officer at Pizza Hut UK & Ireland, explains: “Pizza Hut are the original rebels, and we know how to cut through the market and create something that delivers on taste, creativity and excitement all at once.”
The timing? Impeccable. With a summer stacked with sport, music festivals, and Big Zuu’s global food-fuelled adventures lighting up screens, Pizza Hut saw an open window and dove through it with a crust in each hand.
“Our partnership with Sky and Big Zuu for Rich Flavours has given us the perfect opportunity to debut this revolutionary new pizza,” Ulaite added.
If you’re expecting Pizza Hut to slow down after this cheesy-meaty triumph, think again. The brand promises more tastebud-tingling announcements as the season unfolds. So keep an eye on the oven light—and maybe your waistline too.
For now, the Cheeseburger Pizza is here, and it’s not asking for permission. It’s handing you a slice, clapping you on the back, and saying, “Let’s hustle.”
And frankly, you’d be mad not to answer the call.
