British free-to-air broadcaster ITV has inked a new three-season deal to broadcast Spain’s premier football league, LaLiga.
The agreement, a sub-licensing deal with Premier Sports (owned by Viaplay Group), commenced in the current season and extends until the 2024/25 campaign.
LaLiga, featuring football giants like Barcelona and Real Madrid, will be showcased live on ITV, ITV4, and the streaming service ITV Hub.
ITV secured UK rights to broadcast 10 matches per season, focusing on games involving FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, or Atlético Madrid. The first match on ITV will be Real Sociedad vs. FC Barcelona on August 21st at 9 pm on ITV4.
Niall Sloane, ITV’s Director of Sport, expressed excitement about offering free-to-air coverage of one of the world’s most entertaining football leagues.
ITV’s LaLiga matches will also be accessible on Premier Sports and LaLigaTV, expanding access for fans to enjoy iconic clubs and world-class players.
