Quick where you want it, and rugged when you need it, adaptability that enables you to get the most out of your ride, the new Grail holds the keys to speed across all kinds of terrain thanks to its engaging and inspiring handling, true aero gains, an efficient and compliant chassis, and integration that works.
The new Grail raises the bar in configurability. Pared back and pure when speed is of the essence, or fully loaded for the longest days. Whatever performance means to you on your gravel rides, the new Grail has the answer.
The Grail is now available to the public across three platforms, including the all-new, top-line CFR range which has already proven itself with multiple high-profile wins in 2023, including Carolin Schiff’s commanding triumph at Unbound 200
Gravel pro Pete Stetina’s feedback was instrumental in developing the new Grail.
In gravel, the differences are small in equipment choices, and the consequences are big.
Pete Stetina
Canyon athlete,
The gravel scene has evolved greatly since the launch of the first Grail back in 2018 and the demands for performance in this space are now far clearer.
Every event poses its own challenges so you need a highly customisable platform that you can configure to your needs for the terrain or event you are riding. Creating this platform was the mission in developing the new Grail.
A highly customisable performance package
Among a long list of innovations, the new Grail delivers optimised aerodynamics with over 9 watts saved on its predecessor. Storage options with the Aero LOAD System actually make the bike faster.
A fresh silhouette in the Double Drop Bar includes the innovative Gear Groove which houses a broad range of accessories, including the highly adjustable Aero Extensions adapted from the triathlon scene-dominating Speedmax.
The Aero LOAD System includes both the LOAD Down Tube Storage, which is integrated in the frame, and the innovative LOAD FidLock QuickLoader, which is rapid to attach and remove, and makes the new Grail 1.5 watts faster than its predecessor.
Riding dynamics have been overhauled with a geometry concept that truly carves, adding stability while maintaining agility, and the Grail’s trademark compliance is still present with a seatpost concept adapted from the Ultimate road line-up, yet optimised for performance gravel riding.
The new CP0039 Double Drop Bar with Gear Groove delivers outstanding ergonomics and adds a new layer of functionality, including an option for aero extensions adapted from the Canyon Speedmax
A wide selection of gear, from LOAD Fork Sleeves for extra carrying capacity to rapid removal and installation, full-coverage DEFEND Fast Fenders make the new Grail as adaptable as it is fast.
Fully rigged. The new Grail is a highly customisable performance package.
CFR. The next level in gravel racing.
More riders. More backgrounds. More events. More nationalities. Canyon is at the forefront of the gravel racing movement, present where it counts with riders at the top of the results sheets from a host of disciplines.
The first ever Grail CFR has been created for them to deliver these performances as the fastest, most efficient gravel bike Canyon has made to-date.
The highest grades of carbon that require precision manufacturing processes enable the use of less material while simultaneously making the frame stiffer and stronger for benchmark stiffness-to-weight.
Compared to the new Grail CF SLX, the Grail CFR frameset is 118 g lighter while the frame is 10% stiffer when it comes to power transfer measured at the bottom bracket and head tube.
Carolin Schiff triumphs at Unbound 200 in June riding the GRVL DZZL design. The limited Grail CFR LTD.
These attributes were put to great use when Carolin Schiff stormed to victory at Unbound 200, putting over 15 minutes into her nearest competitor while riding in standout prototype Grail in GRVL DZZL livery.
To honour that victory, a limited launch-edition run of 70 bikes will be available at launch in that iconic GRVL DZZL artwork.
Strength in depth. The new Grail portfolio.
There is a broad range of builds available for the new Grail across three platform levels, Grail CF SL, Grail CF SLX and the new Grail CFR:
Grail CF SL
Starting at €2,699 the Grail CF SL is a great entry point into the world of performance gravel with incredibly competitive specs at more accessible pricepoints.
To make this possible, the Grail CF SL frames do not come complete with LOAD Down Tube Storage, however the LOAD Fidlock Quickloader is still compatible.
In addition, the CP0045 Double Drop Bar equipped on the Grail CF SL doesn’t come with the Gear Groove interface, which is needed for integrated Aero Extensions, Computer mounts and Light mounts.
Grail CF SLX
The Grail CF SLX adds LOAD Down Tube Storage and Gear Groove versatility and is available in 1by and 2by electronic shifting options.
The GRX Di2-equipped Grail CF SLX 8 Di2 comes in at €4,999 and the SRAM Force and Zipp 303 Firecrest-adorned Grail CF SLX 8 AXS is €5,299.
Grail CFR
Topping the line with the lightest framesets and overall builds, the Grail CFR Di2 will cost €6,999, while the Quarq power meter-equipped Grail CFR AXS demands €7,999.
Finally, just 70 Grail CFR LTD limited launch editions in the standout GRVL DZZL design will be available worldwide for €10,000.
