To mark the release of Sony Pictures’ I Wanna Dance with Somebody, celebrating the life of singing sensation Whitney Houston out in UK cinemas on 26 December 2022, the Bannatyne Group will give one member and their guest a taste of being a Hollywood celebrity.
I Wanna Dance with Somebody is a powerful and triumphant celebration of the incomparable Whitney Houston. Directed by Kasi Lemmons, written by Academy Award® nominee Anthony McCarten, produced by legendary music executive Clive Davis and starring BAFTA Award® winner Naomi Ackie, the film is a no-holds-barred portrait of the complex and multifaceted woman behind The Voice.
From New Jersey choir girl to one of the best-selling and most awarded recording artists of all time, audiences are taken on an inspirational, poignant—and so emotional—journey through Houston’s trailblazing life and career, with show-stopping performances and a soundtrack of the icon’s most beloved hits as you’ve never heard them before. Don’t you wanna dance?
Part of the Bannatyne Group’s collaboration with Sony Pictures’ I Wanna Dance with Somebody will involve encouraging members to step back in time, don leotards and leg warmers and get moving to the music of the 80s in special dance classes.
There are several ways, during November and December, to be entered into the prize draw to win this fabulous holiday:
- Participating in Bannatyne health clubs’ new Whitney Houston-inspired aerobics dance classes
- Joining one of its health clubs
- An existing member joining a friend
The prize will comprise flying to Los Angeles and enjoying three nights at a luxury hotel in the heart of Hollywood.
The winner and their guest will be able to channel their inner superstar as they head to a top studio to create their own tribute to the legendary star with an exclusive recording session.
As a salute to Whitney’s amazing dance moves, they will enjoy a private masterclass with a pro dancer.
The VIP treatment will continue with an evening private helicopter flight over Los Angeles’ most iconic sights followed by dinner and cocktails at a Hollywood hotspot.
The pair also will receive tickets to the city’s world-class music awards museum and $1,000 spending money to go on a celebrity-style shopping spree.
Duncan Bannatyne, the chief executive and chairman at the Bannatyne Group, said: “The City of Angels played a large part in Whitney’s life and the lucky winner will experience the glitz and glamour of Hollywood with this amazing prize.
“The Bannatyne Group prides itself on adopting new ways of encouraging members to get fit and in enriching the offering that we provide and this significant tie-up is a prime example of this ethos.
“We hope members will embrace the whole 80s’ aerobics vibe, with the Whitney Houston-inspired dance classes having a fun, party atmosphere as well as being a great way to get into shape.”
