Men’s Health: Shedding Light on Low Testosterone and a Novel Treatment Option

Frustrated and depressed man sitting on the edge of the bed

We always hear about menopause in a woman, but more needs to be brought to light about how men can suffer too.

In recent months, we have been looking into low testosterone in men. There are so many damaging sides to low testosterone, not just physically, but mentally. It can not only destroy a man’s body but relationships too.

It seems to be that a man’s nature is to not want to talk about this subject, but we have seen first-hand that there are people out there now wanting to shout and make men realise that it’s not only ok to talk about it but get advice.

Erectile dysfunction is one of the symptoms of low testosterone. But it is important to note that while low testosterone is a known risk factor for ED, it is important to note that not all men with low testosterone will develop ED, and not all men with ED have low testosterone.

Testosterone deficiency is estimated to affect 8% of men aged 50 to 79. Plus, Testosterone deficiency is largely under-investigated and is often untreated because symptoms such as tiredness, poor concentration, and depression are too easily dismissed as signs of aging. Plus, hormonal changes are often only associated with women.

Only a third of adults with experience of ED are aware of testosterone deficiency being a risk, according to Eroxon’s® new research.13

Dr. Janine David adds: “Until now, there has been a scarcity of choice for the growing number of men who experience erectile dysfunction, whether it’s often an issue, or it only happens occasionally. Eroxon® will change the lives of men who want a fast, effective therapy to help take control of their sex life.”

Other factors, such as age, lifestyle habits, and underlying medical conditions, can also contribute to ED. It’s always important to check up with your doctor to investigate the cause of ED, as the penis can often serve as a barometer of men’s cardiovascular health, and ED can be an early sign of more serious problems, such as hardening of the arteries or diabetes.

We were invited along to hear from some of the amazing people that are shouting out about this side of men’s health, and also hear about an amazing new product that could revolutionize the treatment for ED.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common health concern that can cause significant mental and emotional distress. From age-related factors to chronic health conditions, there are many reasons why ED can occur.

While there are various treatment options available for ED, including medications, injections, and surgeries, many men are hesitant to try them due to their potential side effects. This is where Eroxon, a novel treatment option with an excellent safety profile, comes in.

But what’s causing such high rates of erectile dysfunction?

In older men, the most common reason for erectile problems is lack of blood flow to the penis.

Men’s health specialist and a member of EEDIP, Dr. Jeff Foster says: “This is why it’s always important to investigate the cause of ED. The penis is often a barometer of men’s cardiovascular health, and ED can be an early sign of more serious problems such as hardening of the arteries or diabetes.”

What is Eroxon? Eroxon® is a clinically proven treatment for ED, helping men to achieve an erection within 10 minutes. Available without a prescription in the UK & Ireland from Boots stores and from 18th April 2023 with a Recommended Retail Price of £24.99 for 4 single-dose tubes.

How Is Eroxon Used? Eroxon is a treatment option used for ED in men. It is a gel that contains Sildenafil, a drug that is also used in Viagra, the popular ED medication. However, Eroxon has a unique approach to delivering its active ingredient. Instead of directly taking the drug orally, it is applied topically on the penis. The gel is absorbed by the skin, where it stimulates the release of nitric oxide.

This leads to the relaxation of the smooth muscles in the blood vessels of the penis, which increases blood flow to the area, leading to an erection. To use it, simply massage the head of the penis to apply the content.

Benefits of Using Eroxon Eroxon is gaining popularity as a treatment option for ED due to the following benefits:

  1. Convenient: As the gel is applied topically, it can be used discreetly, without having to take a pill.
  2. Faster onset: Eroxon’s unique approach to delivering its active ingredient allows it to work faster than other treatments. The onset time is around 5-10 minutes, compared to 30 minutes for other ED medications.
  3. Fewer side effects: Because Eroxon is applied topically, the active ingredient (Sildenafil) does not enter the bloodstream as quickly as other treatments. This leads to fewer side effects such as headaches, dizziness, and changes in vision.

At 12 weeks of using Eroxon, 63% of men showed significant improvement in their erectile function, and it was clinically effective across mild, moderate, and severe ED sufferers. Crucially, three in five Eroxon erections (60%) occurred within 10 minutes of application—significantly faster than oral PDE5i’s, which typically start to work within 30-60 minutes.

Potential Side Effects of Eroxon Although Eroxon has fewer side effects compared to other treatments, there are still some potential side effects associated with its use. These include mild to moderate headaches, flushing, and nasal congestion. In rare cases, Eroxon can also cause decreased blood pressure, blurred vision, and priapism (a painful erection that lasts for more than 4 hours). However, the incidence of these side effects is low compared to other ED medications.

So in conclusion, Eroxon is a novel treatment option that is gaining popularity among men with ED. Its unique approach to delivering the active ingredient allows for faster onset and fewer side effects, making it an attractive option for those who are hesitant to try other treatments. If you are experiencing ED, we recommend checking up with your doctor to see if Eroxon is right for you.

GP and TV medic, Dr. Hilary Jones and an adviser to the Eroxon® ED Information Panel (EEDIP), says: “Eroxon® offers a breakthrough for sexual wellness, aimed at helping mild, moderate, and severe erectile dysfunction. Eroxon® gel, available without a prescription, ensures sexual spontaneity remains intact thanks to its speed of action.

Previous ED treatments can take up to an hour to work, potentially destroying any intimacy. Plus, super studies show that almost 50% of men actually gave up using them.

He adds: “Erectile dysfunction is a growing concern; both age and obesity are factors in the number of ED cases, and with an aging population that’s also becoming more overweight, it’s clear that this is a problem that won’t be going away fast.”

“Although many of us would like to roll back the years, getting older is a fact of life. So, it’s wise to deal with the factors that can be controlled.”

Dr. Hilary Jones continued: “Four out of five men who experience erectile issues are overweight or obese, and having a BMI of 30 or more triples the risk of ED.”

Overall, almost half (48%) of those who took part in the Eroxon® research recognized that carrying too much weight can be a factor in ED.

With a population that is getting more overweight, it’s important to try and take steps to lose weight where possible to not only improve health overall but reduce the likelihood of erectile dysfunction.
