PUMA Running Partners With Reece Parkinson And Calm To Release Running T-Shirt

Reece Parkinson

BBC Radio One Xtra and Match of the Day X presenter Reece Parkinson has partnered with PUMA UKI and suicide prevention charity, Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), to release a limited edition running t-shirt to help tackle the stigma surrounding mental health, and encourage more people to get the help they need.

The design

This collection represents some of the highs and lows Parkinson has experienced throughout his career and the positive impact running has had on both his mental and physical health, having been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes before going on to complete an ultra-marathon.

Inspired by the phrase ‘slow and steady wins the race’, the t-shirt design replicates a tortoise-shell, highlighting the belief that running isn’t all about fast times and long distances, but about moving your body and finding balance.

The t-shirt also includes the CALM logo and four words and phrases that indicate the power of running:

  • Resilience
  • Patience
  • Free your mind
  • This too shall pass

‘You can’t underestimate the power of running for your mental health. I started running when I was in a low place mentally after a break-up and running provided the release I need. This PUMA t-shirt is a representation of my running mantra – forget about how far or how quickly you’re going, just get out there and give it a go. Whether you’ve been running for years or you’re thinking of starting, I hope people support the Campaign Against Living Miserably by purchasing this t-shirt and lacing up.’
