Polar Unveils The All-New Vantage V3

Polar wearer checks out their watch

Polar, a leader in wearable sports and fitness technology for nearly 50 years, announces the launch of the Polar Vantage V3, a new premium multisport watch that brings Polar Elixir™ – the next generation of Polar biosensing technologies – and a stunning new Nordic design for everyone who feels and acts as an athlete.

Polar Elixir™ equips the new Polar Vantage V3 with the capability to measure a spectrum of bodily functions — such as cardiovascular activity, the autonomic nervous system and body temperature — and translate it into digital data and insights, including blood oxygen saturation, skin temperature and the electrical signals of the heart with Wrist ECG. It also introduces Polar’s Gen-4 OHR, to deliver the most advanced and precise optical heart rate tracking abilities to date on a Polar watch.

The latest addition to Polar’s popular Vantage V series of premium multisport watches continues to offer indispensable tools to help dedicated athletes harness their talent and determination, and ultimately, perform at their best.

It features a beautiful, high-resolution AMOLED touchscreen display, dual-frequency GPS, offline maps, and a new processor delivering the smoothest and swiftest performance in a Polar watch ever.

“Athletic progress is defined by goals; setting them, working towards them, surpassing them and setting the next ones. This requires a vast amount of personal insight only achievable through measuring and analysing highly accurate data about your performance.

This knowledge, paired with personalised guidance, is the ultimate key to progress,” explains Polar CEO, Sander Werring. “The Vantage V3 is Polar’s most ambitious watch to date, powered by our most advanced biosensing technology, Polar Elixir™.”

Measures more biomarkers than anything before it

Polar Elixir™ biosensing technologies are the result of Polar’s long-term dedication to sports science, research and innovation.

This sensor fusion platform measures more information from the human body than ever before, to provide a wider range of physiological and mechanical data points with high accuracy.

This, in turn, reinforces the capabilities of Polar’s Smart Coaching algorithms, empowering users to get even more from the most comprehensive suite of training and recovery tools on the market.

Polar Elixir™ is the next-generation platform that lays the foundation for all future Polar products. This first iteration already brings remarkable improvements, such as the most precise optical heart rate measurements in a Polar Watch to date.

Along with algorithm refinements, the redesigned sensor structure minimises light leakage, dramatically reduces interference caused by arm movement, and improves power efficiency to provide 25% more accuracy in many of the most popular sports, including running and cycling.

In addition to the vastly improved OHR sensor, Polar Elixir™ also brings pulse oximetry technology to measure blood oxygen saturation, a crucial indicator when training at high altitudes.

In a collaborative study with the Sport Product Testing group at the Canadian Sport Institute in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the Polar SpO2 sensor, powered by Polar Elixir™, was validated using International Organization for Standardization (ISO) protocols typically used during the development of medical devices.

The results showed that the Polar SpO2 sensor generated values with a root mean square error of less than 3.5% when compared to arterial blood oxygenation measurements. The level of accuracy provided by the sensor is similar to commercially available fingertip pulse oximeters.

Thanks to Polar Elixir™ and the built-in wrist ECG sensor, the Polar Vantage V3 allows users to take an electrocardiogram in 30 seconds, offering readings of their heart’s electrical signals.

This unlocks advanced insights into overall well-being and pro-level recovery features like the Orthostatic Test to maximise the potential of Polar Recovery Pro™, so users can assess their training readiness each day and optimise recovery.

The Polar Elixir™ temperature sensing capabilities in the Polar Vantage V3 automatically detect users’ skin temperature at night, offering valuable insights into their overall wellbeing. Women can use these skin temperature insights to gain a deeper understanding of the specific stage within their menstrual cycle.

“Polar Elixir™ is the determined result of years of R&D, backed by real science to offer a personal guidance tool unlike anything else on the market,” continues Werring.

“The level of insights and accuracy that Polar Elixir™ offers highlights how Polar’s commitment to innovation impacts not just its products, but the wearables industry as a whole.”

Functional design, powerful performance

The breathtaking design strikes a perfect balance between functionality and elegance. Inspired by Polar’s Nordic heritage, Vantage V3 has an entirely new design that is ideal for both sports performance and everyday use.

It features a remarkably bright 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen, which has been expanded closer to the edges, giving users a larger viewable area — the biggest screen on a Polar watch to date.  At 462ppi, the content looks impressively sharp and vibrant.

In addition, the aluminium bezel feels light and elegant around the clock. A set of rugged, glove-friendly buttons makes it easy and practical to use during high-intensity workouts, swimming and endurance sports, offering instant access to the most important functions.

For the first time in the Vantage V series, the new Polar Vantage V3 is fully compatible with standard 22mm wristbands, meaning no adapters are needed.

Polar Vantage V3 delivers incredible performance, with a 129% faster CPU speed compared to Vantage V2 and 32GB of internal storage. Plus, dual-frequency GPS measures distances with precision and with less interference from buildings and bad weather.

Even with the larger and brighter display, Vantage V3 delivers battery life that lasts for days. Users can enjoy up to 140 hours of training on a single charge when in power-saving mode, and up to eight full days of display time.

For explorers, the Vantage V3 comes equipped with offline maps, allowing users to plan their training confidently to always find their way.

Features like track-back, turn-by-turn guidance powered by Komoot, and Hill Splitter™ empower users to transform any terrain into their elite training ground.

The AMOLED display with its enhanced screen sharpness makes the offline map experience user-friendly, even in the most challenging conditions.

For everyone who acts as an athlete

With over 150 built-in sports profiles, Polar Vantage V3 is a phenomenal tool for athletes and fitness enthusiasts who participate in a variety of sports and activities. It is packed with all the activity, training, recovery and sleep-tracking tools that Polar users have come to love.

Fitness assessment tools, like Running and Cycling Performance tests, make it easy for users to estimate their VO2 max, power and heart rate zones, so they always train at the right intensity, without doing too much or too little.

Before embarking on their next training session, users can assess their current condition with a full suite of advanced recovery tools. This way, they can tailor their training plan at any moment to align seamlessly with their body’s state, thus mitigating the risk of overtraining and promoting optimal performance.

With its extended battery life, the Polar Vantage V3 doesn’t run out of power by the end of the day. As users sleep, the Vantage V3 monitors their recovery overnight using the most advanced suite of sleep tracking tools, including SleepWise™, Nightly Recharge™ and Sleep Plus Stages™.

Seeing progress is easy too. Users can conveniently see all the data and insights that the Polar Vantage V3 captures on the free Polar Flow app and website.

With Polar Flow, they can analyse various aspects of their physical activity, fitness and health, set their goals, and track their progress. By tapping into training, sleep and recovery insights, athletes can transform their sports journey into a well-informed, balanced and successful adventure.

Polar Vantage V3 and its enhanced biosensing technology, together with superior, science-backed Polar algorithms, provide the best personalised guidance in sports and fitness, highlighting how Polar’s commitment to innovation impacts not just its products, but the wearables industry as a whole.
