Musto have announced a new partnership with the Royal Dutch Watersports Association as Official Clothing Supplier.

The performance clothing brand will kit out the national sailing team, TeamAllianz, the youth academy, officials and members for the next three years which includes the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Musto’s Olympic heritage can be traced all the way back to the 1964 Olympic Games when founder Keith Musto won the silver medal in the Flying Dutchman class. Ever since the brand has delivered race-winning performance and weather protection apparel.

Nick Houchin, Musto’s Head of Marketing, explained: “In February this year we confirmed our continued support of the British Sailing Team following their incredible success at Tokyo 2020.

Now we are partnering with the third most successful national team at Tokyo 2020 with the Royal Dutch Watersports Association.

These two partnerships, along with our global association with World Sailing, sees us engaging with the sailing community around the world, from grassroots to Olympic level. I’m delighted to welcome the Dutch federation to Team Musto and we look forward to working with them to inspire current and future Olympic hopefuls.”

Musto has become the choice for elite sailors, national teams and record-breakers around the world, who test the boundaries of everyday sailing and set new standards in the pursuit of excellence.

Jaap Zielhuis, TeamAllianz national coach: “I am extremely happy with this partnership with Musto. As the Dutch sailing team, we want to do everything we can to win and you can also see that mentality at Musto: wanting to be the best!

What’s really special is that we can give direct feedback on the clothing, so that we together develop new innovations to push our performance both on the water and in the kit that we wear.”

The national sailing team members will be wearing high-performance Musto sailing apparel at all the major World, European and National championships in the build-up to Paris 2024, as well as the youth-focused Optimist On Tour event and the annual Allianz Regatta, The Netherlands’ largest international sailing regatta, held in Almere.

During the Allianz Regatta from May 27 till June 5, the Musto Sailors Home will open its doors on the beach of Muiderzand. The Sailors Home is a place for sailors to relax off the water and is also open to event sponsors, partners and boat owners from the Marina.

Annette Duetz of TeamAllianz, Olympic sailor in the 49er FX class with Annemiek Bekkering, bronze medallist in Tokyo and two-time world champion commented: “Musto is my go-to choice, I wouldn’t want to sail in any other brand.

I can move very well in it, and I have one wetsuit which keeps me warm, and another keeps me cool. This allows me to fully concentrate on my racing – which is critically important to my success.”
