MELP App To Tackle Post Coronavirus Mental Health Problems

A leading healthcare company has launched a specialist app which is aimed to combat mental health post the coronavirus lockdown.

The Holistic Healthcare Group has designed an app that brings all apps together. So instead of having 15 apps to support wellbeing you now need only one.

The app is called Melp (mental help) and uniquely provides access to different therapy options in one place. It’s an easy, risk-free way for people to try out a range of therapies and find one that suits the individual.

Melp is partnered with Anytime Fitness and has been launched to meet the massive demand for mental health issues after coronavirus lockdown and provides videos, audio recordings and even direct links to therapists to help provide support whenever it is needed. And since everyone is different, this app allows people to experiment and find out what will work for the individual.

You can dip in and out as and when you need support, giving you a wellness toolkit that fits in your back pocket. The treatments last from just five minutes to an hour, and are simple enough that anyone can use them. So you can learn the techniques you need to improve your physical and mental health.

The app has been launched after new data from Public Health England (PHE) revealed that more than half of 2,559 parents surveyed said the mental wellbeing of their children has been one of their biggest worries during the pandemic.

The published research also suggested that COVID-19 has caused an increase in anxiety in young people, and a third of young people aged 8-24 reported being more worried, sad and stressed than before lockdown.

Melp specialises in mental wellbeing for three main areas; teens and young adults, a mental health support plan for businesses and direct to consumers as an accessible low-cost option to manage mental wellness.

The Holistic Healthcare Group CEO, Sophie Kirk, said: “We believe that everyone should have access to information about mental health as well as the support and resources they need to manage any issues they may have.

The Holistic Healthcare Group is dedicated to not only helping treat mental health issues but to spreading information and support in an easy, affordable and non-judgemental way. Melp will take us one step closer to our mission of making sure everyone has access to knowledge, education and help with their mental and emotional health.”

Neil Randall, Anytime Fitness UK CEO, said: “We’re looking forward to partnering with the Holistic Healthcare Group and offering more support for our members’ mental wellness. Mental wellness is a significant part of what makes us healthy and this partnership provides our members with access to a great range of resources.”

Mental health covers a broad range of issues and the goal of Melp is to offer a level of support for a number of common issues including:

DEPRESSION

FEAR

BUILDING RESILIENCE

STRESS

FEELING OVERWHELMED

ANXIETY

INSOMNIA

PANIC

LACK OF MOTIVATION

Over time Melp will be adding more therapies to support people with an even wider range of problems.

MELP in detail:

Once you have the app downloaded, you can use it in a couple of different ways.

If you know what problem you are trying to solve (for example, anxiety), then you can simply search for it, and Melp will show you a range of the therapies that can help you address that issue. You can then choose which you would like to try out, and see which works best for you.

During the guided techniques a therapist will take you through using a tool, tip or technique that they use to help their own patients. For example, you might want to try meditation for your anxiety, so you would choose a meditation video of a length that works for you, and a therapist will talk you through a guided meditation session.

Similarly, if you were struggling with depression, or struggling for motivation, you could access the counselling and coaching tools in the same way.

When you’ve chosen your therapy, you will have access to videos, audio files and images that explain a tool or technique, or take you through a guided session in the way an in-person therapist would. You can dip in and out of the sessions any time, and they will pick up right where you left off.

If you opt for the upgraded version of the Melp app, you also get full access to our virtual and physical clinics, so you can take your treatments to the next level. Find out more about that on the memberships page.

At launch the Melp app will feature over 90 therapy options, giving you a complete wellness toolkit that fits in your back pocket – with new tools and techniques added every month.

Using our app, you can access: COUNSELLING, HYPNOTHERAPY, COACHING, EFT (emotional freedom technique), MEDITATION,

MINDFULNESS MOVEMENTS, RECIPES & NUTRITION FOR MENTAL HEALTH & MEDITATION & YOGA.

The app is available for £12.99 a month of £120 per year.
