Together We Stay Active: Parkinson’s UK & 1FitLife Inspire a Healthier Future

Together We Stay Active Poster

Parkinson’s UK and 1FitLife have partnered with a heartfelt mission to change lives through the power of movement.

Their brand-new outdoor campaign, Together We Stay Active, is designed to encourage individuals living with Parkinson’s to embrace an active lifestyle with confidence and joy.

Empowering Through Visibility

Thanks to the generosity of Clear Channel UK, the Parkinson’s UK 1FitLife Campaign is lighting up outdoor spaces with powerful visuals that celebrate staying active with Parkinson’s.

From simple exercises to social sports, the campaign shows how an active lifestyle isn’t just possible—it’s a rewarding way to manage the challenges of Parkinson’s.

Part of a Bigger Vision

Together We Stay Active is a cornerstone of Parkinson’s UK’s broader initiative, Get Active Stay Active, launched earlier this year.

This project aims to provide the Parkinson’s community with enhanced resources, targeted campaigns, and clear guidance to support their physical activity goals.

By integrating these efforts, Parkinson’s UK seeks to create a supportive environment where everyone connected to Parkinson’s can thrive.

A Strategic Outdoor Presence

Since its November debut, the campaign has been prominently displayed on digital advertising screens managed by Clear Channel UK.

This strategic placement ensures that the message reaches a wide audience, encouraging more individuals to explore and engage in physical activities tailored to their preferences and abilities.

Collaborative Creativity

1FitLife has played a pivotal role in bringing Together We Stay Active to life. Working closely with Parkinson’s UK, they developed a rich library of photography and videography assets that celebrate a diverse range of activities.

From walking football and table tennis to seated exercises and home-based workouts, the campaign presents activities that are both accessible and enjoyable.

Real Stories, Real Impact

The campaign features real people living with Parkinson’s, actively participating in various exercises. Filmed at inspiring locations such as the Beacon of Light Leisure Centre in Sunderland and Sea Field Gardens in Bournemouth, these stories emphasise that physical activity can be seamlessly integrated into daily life, enhancing overall well-being.

Jessica Overton, Managing Director at 1FitLife, shared her enthusiasm: “This campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of exercise for people living with Parkinson’s.

Just two and a half hours of activity a week, from walking the dog to joining a local exercise class, can help people to better manage symptoms, lift their mood and improve overall wellbeing.

“Together We Stay Active uses compelling storytelling and features real people in authentic, everyday situations, participating in accessible and social activities.

Having previously developed digital fitness programmes for Parkinson’s UK, we’ve seen firsthand the profound impact exercise can have on those living with Parkinson’s.

Collaborating once again on the Together We Stay Active campaign was a truly rewarding experience. Listening to personal stories from individuals living with Parkinson’s underscored how transformative physical activity can be for improving lives.”

Gratitude and Hope

Anna Castiaux, Physical Activity Programme Lead at Parkinson’s UK, expressed her appreciation for the collaborative effort: “It’s been fantastic to work with the team from 1FitLife on our new Together We Stay Active campaign and I’m delighted to see the outdoor advertising across the UK.

“We are very grateful for the kind donation of advertising space from Clear Channel UK and to our fantastic Parkinson’s storytellers, including Brian, Shirley and Julia, among many others, who are all featured in the campaign and who gave up their time to be a part of the photography and filming sessions.

“Research has shown that being active on a regular basis can be one of the best ways to help people with Parkinson’s to manage their condition.

For some, it can be as beneficial as medication. I personally hope that more members of the Parkinson’s community will see the new national advertising campaign and feel inspired to be active with the condition.”

Looking Ahead

As the Parkinson’s UK 1FitLife Campaign continues to roll out across the UK, it stands as a beacon of hope and motivation for those affected by Parkinson’s.

By highlighting accessible and enjoyable physical activities, the campaign not only promotes better health outcomes but also fosters a sense of community and support.

Together, Parkinson’s UK and 1FitLife are making strides towards a future where living actively with Parkinson’s is the norm, empowering individuals to lead fulfilling and vibrant lives.
