De Nadas is turning heads and tantalising taste buds this March as it brings together two of London’s most daring innovators.
In a collaboration that’s as much about culinary adventure as it is about challenging taboos, De Nadas—the acclaimed purveyor of hand-shaped Argentinian empanadas—and the world’s first brick-and-mortar Vagina Museum have teamed up to launch the Vulvanada.
Launched ahead of International Women’s Day and coinciding with Endometriosis Action Month, this limited-edition treat will be available exclusively at De Nadas’ new Bethnal Green shop from March 7th to 31st.
Imagine biting into an empanada bursting with spiced peaches, caramelised in ginger and cinnamon—a flavourful experience designed not only to delight but also to make a difference.
Every Vulvanada purchase contributes £2 to the Vagina Museum, supporting its vital mission of demystifying and celebrating gynaecological health.
The Vagina Museum, which first opened its doors in Camden Market in 2019, now calls home within two striking railway arches on Poyser Street.
Nestled among a vibrant community of independent businesses—from Sodo Pizza to Focaccia Mia—the museum is more than a space; it’s a dynamic hub featuring exhibitions, talks, workshops, and even comedy and theatre, all aimed at sparking open conversations about the female anatomy.
Founded in 2022, De Nadas quickly earned a cult following for its innovative approach to traditional empanadas, with previous locations in Notting Hill, Shoreditch, and Stoke Newington.
Their new Bethnal Green kitchen marks not only a fresh chapter for the brand but also a perfect neighbourly fit with the Vagina Museum next door.
Zoe Williams, Director of the Vagina Museum, sums it up perfectly: “We’re thrilled to team up with our neighbours in this unique collaboration.
There’s nothing dirty and shameful about the vulva. Almost a third of young women are embarrassed to go to the doctor to talk about gynaecological symptoms, including symptoms of endometriosis such as heavy bleeding and debilitating pain. Half the world has a vulva, and together with De Nadas, we’re breaking taboos and eradicating shame.”
Annabel Martinez-Fox, Co-Founder of De Nadas, adds her enthusiasm: “Out of all our empanadas, this is my new favourite.
We are delighted to be working with the amazing team at the Vagina Museum and support the work they do to promote vagina positivity and women’s health. It’s also a great start to our new home in the Poyser Street community”.
For those eager to experience this innovative fusion of food and activism, De Nadas in Bethnal Green is open daily from 11 am to 5 pm at 272 Poyser Street (E2 9RF), while the Vagina Museum welcomes visitors Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm at 275 Poyser Street (E2 9RF).
