Get ready to don your capes and join the Superhero Series, as it returns this Summer, energising the UK’s 14.1 million individuals with disabilities with fun and flexible challenges!
As anticipation for the Paris Paralympics mounts, the Superhero Series, powered by Marvel, is calling on Everyday Superheroes to participate in two extraordinary events:
At Home Superheroes: June 15 – July 14, 2024
Superhero Tri: August 17, 2024, at Dorney Lake, Windsor
Superhero Tri Powered by Marvel: A Super-Powered Challenge
On August 17th, Dorney Lake in Windsor will transform into a battleground of grit and determination, offering participants three distances to conquer.
Participants can opt to take on the swim, cycle, and push/run stages solo or share the fun in a team relay.
Adding to the excitement, Superheroes can enlist Sidekick teammates to tow, push, or pull them across the course.
Here are the thrilling Superhero Tri distances:
- Superhero Tri Sprint: Swim 150m, Bike 3km, Push/Run 1km
- Superhero Tri Half: Swim 400m, Bike 10km, Push/Run 2.5km
- Superhero Tri Full: Swim 750m, Bike 20km, Push/Run 5km
The Superhero Tri celebrates diversity and inclusivity by allowing a range of adaptive equipment such as flippers, floats, adaptive bikes, wheelchairs, baby buggies, and more.
At Home Superheroes Powered by Marvel: A Month-Long Adventure
From June 15th to July 14th, At Home Superheroes beckons participants to join one of four Marvel-themed SUPER TEAMS.
Each team includes a Super Partner and Everyday Superhero mascots for motivation and support.
The goal? Accumulate as much distance as possible through a variety of activities—from walking, wheeling, and rowing to running, swimming, and Super Sensory challenges. Every kilometre covered brings the SUPER TEAM closer to victory.
Sophia Warner, Paralympian and founder of the Superhero Series, expressed her enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled to bring back the Superhero Series for 2024, offering more ways for people to unite and be part of something extraordinary”.
“We believe everyone with a disability deserves the chance to enjoy and benefit from sports and activities, which is what the Superhero Series is all about.”
Join the Superhero Movement
The Superhero Series welcomes everyone to participate, with the sole requirement that solo entrants or at least one team member identify as having a disability—whether physical, intellectual, sensory, or invisible. No specific classifications are needed.
